Sounds like big bully moving out the family farms. If there was a processing facility that was enacted locally into the program it could possible be beneficial. Still does not do anything for draining or possible contamination of the aquifer.
Haven't been on those hwys in that neck of the woods for quite some time. My guess is they may need substantial upgrades for increased truck traffic.
Big corporate Dairy Farms will soon dictate the prices for products even more than they do already.

Just my thoughts🤔

I said it before and I will say it again unless local small farms dont become a corporate entity themselves, they will all go under. Big corporate farming is a business, a corporate business just like any other which is to make money, as far as other environmental and social issues are concerned its up to the local level government officials to make sure laws are being enforced on day one. These issues are not a new phenomenon for small town north dakota and they (corporate farming) won't go away but continue to be pushed and if small north dakota doesn't figure out what to do now they will sease to exist adapt or go extinct.

I believe ND has a law against corporate farming.

This side of the state has some rather large farms, but they are all family owned.

I really don't see them going anywhere in my lifetime anyway.

they tried to put a hog operation a mile from dvl, pretty sure they will try anything they want, and 90 percent of the time get away with it

The laws have changed in 2023 after bill gates bought out Campbell's in Grafton.

I know milk, like sugar beet are subsidized by the government, but does that also mean processed milk is again subsidized, for some by the snap program? I wonder why this company picked this area, other then perhaps there are other dairy farms in the area? I wish journalism would be less biased in telling the story or even reaching out to the other side to get their take on all the local issues these land owners have. It will be interesting on the follow up to this story

Was that the one by Grahams Island road ? I was just thinking about that one last week when I drove by. I'm pro farming but that location was over the top IMO.
