Where to start....for one thing...I'm drinking a blue num num as KDM calls them, and if I'm drinking...only means something ain't going right. Doctor visit today isn't what I wanted to hear. I have two things going on.
1) I was always getting bladder infections, so doc wanted to find out why, Had a renal scan last month and about 4 years ago, left kidney is larger than the right and doesn't work as fast as the right. Doc thinks I've had this condition since I was born because when I was about 3 I had a surgrey to correct what I believe was the kidney tube to the bladder was kinked. He thinks that was the wrong surgrey but back in the 60s they didn't know any better or have the equipment to diagnose like they do today. So, he thinks I should take that kidney out or deal with the bladder infections from here on out, having bladder infections is not good for kidney fucntion.

2) Prostate is enlarged and not emptying my bladder, plus weak stream..means...gotta have surgery on that as well. He says everything is up to me to decide what I wanna do. For the prostate, just a matter of taking some of it out what he says and I'm thinking of doing that right away possibly next week.

I"m looking for a full time job, so I think its best to get the prostate out of the way first. I"m not having any luck by way in that either. I'd hate to get an offer for a job say tomorrow, then I would have to tell them it'll be at least a week before I can start because of the upcoming medical issues.

The Kidney issue will require alittle more thinking, and to tell ya the truth, its a scary thought to me with all that can go wrong.

I wanna fish yet this year, and having to rely on fishing with someone that has a boat plans sucks cuz you don't have a boat, and yes, I want a boat so damn bad, with no money coming in...I"m SOL till I get a job. Petra and Fishmission, are two great guys that offered to take me out, but haven't had the oppourtunity yet...THANKS GUYS for the offer!!! I don't know if it will ever happen this year...but thanks...as you can see I'm getting little depressed in my writing....lol....guess when it rain, it pours.....think I should just stay off this site for a little while, then the itch will go away..

Good job to all that can get out and fish...I envy you guys.

So, as far as the jedi bullhead master....think I"m not gonna make that with the situation I"m in...sorry guys...well guess I'll finish my beer and try figure this shit out.

Like KDM says..Carry on fellas....

yeah, crappy news but I'd probably lay off the alcohol, get the prostate taken care, get your new job and figure what the next steps would be for the kidney.

I'm not a doctor nor did I stay at a holiday inn but I would wonder if the alcohol could affect your kidney function more than whatever it is that is causing you problems now.

Hope all goes well for you.

Not exactly great, but things could be a lot worse. Your conditions are quite treatable with patience and time. I wish you the best of luck. Think positive and positive things will happen.:)

You got this. When life throws curveballs at you, zone in, and knock that sh** out of the park.

Best mentality in all situations: "I got this" ... And, you got this bud.

Not sure how old you are Mort, but I'm 37 and recently had a medical scare myself. Facing mortality for the first time is a very scary thing - let's face it, we're all men and have been "invincible" our whole lives! When I contemplated having conversations with my kids (6 and 9) about dad dying, well let's just say it knocked me down. In my case, everything was worse in my mind than it turned out to actually be. Captain Ahab said it very well - treatable, albeit not fun. Keep your thoughts positive and think about the fishing you will do when this is behind you. Best of luck with your rocky journey - you'll figure this out.

dont give up dont ever give up.

ill keep this short and sweet and may take some flack for it ut here it go's.

ive have never had issues myself, but i have watched a wife bleed through multiple bathroom towels on a 20 min ride into a hospital as she went into labor 9 weeks early. ive been through a life flight of my child to childrens hospital in MN and watched them correct a bleed in his head all before he was 3 weeks old. i was done beat up and gave up on God.

walk this walk with your family friends and do it with God. though it seems he has given up on you i can assure you it'll be a million times harder without him. you may never know " the why" to all of this but in my case it undoubteldy made my wife and my relationship so much stronger in the end.

again sorry to bring my personal experiences into this, but when i left God back in it became so much easier.

sorry for those who feel i am pushing my beliefs on him/or you becasue that is not my intentions and never will be.

Good luck getting fixed up Mort. Won't be long and you'll be back in whatever game you choose to play. Just think you'll to tell anybody whining things like "My prostate was the size of a bowling ball and I still didn't complain as much as you!" Kinda like:
