Lycan: My learning in school was not the best so i did look up sociology and critical thinking on the internet to understand. After reading for a while and with the big words i lost interest and still do not understand. Just what does the teacher teach or say as an example of this teaching? What is the lesson plan? I feel i understand ethic and inequity. I look back at my school learning and how it related to whites and Indians. Had a class call ND history. Remember learning about the various tribes in ND but that was it. Do not remember any learning about wounded knee, sitting bull nor Custer or even Billy the KId and the Lincolon co Wars which in part was over the Lutheran and Catholic faith. Not sure if the Indian schools had any learning on the white man and his relationship with the Indians. But i learn this in life and understand the inequity of that and what happen over a period to time with the relationship between the two of us. It was not right and i am able to understand that without being taught. A better person knowing this. Maybe at a young age there is a concern. Use to tell my kids when they were young if you did the deed before marriage you will go blind. Told the grandkids the same thing. Did it work, well i do not need to know. But when i was young i knew there was some different between my various background in the old country and also that Lutheran and Catholic did not mix. That has all been forgotten long before my generation. We need to move forward. If we want the black hills back to make it right it will not happen, nor tearing Rushmore down or not letting the tribe vote on the fighting Sioux name. But if they were to teach about Wounded Knee i could see that as long as they teach why it started, both sides and how it ended. What did we learn from that and how can we be better people today. Find solution, respect. Inequality has effective everyone. I first think of men versus women. I did learn really quick as long as i understood the women's side, life was and is a lot easier to live. So still not sure what CRT teaches but if it to continue to teach the hate and one needs to get back for what happen in the past then it needs to stop. I was not around in the 1800 nor when salvery was here. Help yourself and do not look for me to fix it for you. It is your thinking. db
