Critters have been putting on a show out my dinning room window. Two big tom turkeys are really trying to impress a little hen as I type. Bachlor group of bucks came through about a half hour after sun up. Got two hen pheasents nesting 100 ft from house. Picked off the first two stripped gophers that moved into yard yesterday. Love living in the sticks.:;:thumbsup

I still haven't shot a turkey and sure wish I could shoot the one that's been in my yard the last few days, but unfortunately no beard. Not sure if it's got some barn yard in it or what, but it's about half white. The colors on it are very cool. No doubt I'd mount it if I could take it......

Life is good living in the woods. I took these pictures a few minutes ago through the living room window but they didn't turn out very well.I should put a trail cam out. Fox pups in the yard again this year , They are fun to watch. A squirrel was watching them too.

Put two trail cams out after my last post, one of them I set on the ground. Looked out just in time to see one of the little buggers dragging it down into the den so I pulled the card and secured the camera. A week or so ago I shot a skunk by that shed and next day the fox had drug the skunk a ways away but didn't eat it , They must not like skunk smell.

Yep, They still might dig into it. They have a lush diet up here this time of the year when muskrats are moving and duck eggs are abundant. They carry duck eggs home nest and all as much as they can fit in their mouth.

Yep, all wildlife is fun to watch and photograph. I saw a pair of orioles yesterday morning so I put out some grape jelly and sweetened them up. Hummers are usually about a week behind ther around here .

Orioles love rainy days, At least 6 of them at one time were fighting over jelly yesterday morning in the rain and this one that was getting run off started eating suet , First time I'd ever saw that but it wasn't long before they were fighting over the jelly and the suet.

I like having fox around , We've had pairs raise pups in the yard for a few years in a row. Watched a pair mating this morning, The female was curled up under a tree and the male kept running around and playing and bugging her till she finally gave in. After a quicky The poor buggers were locked up for about a half hour dragging each other back and forth screaming and snapping at each other. When they got free it was play time and they ran around played tag and hide behind the snow banks ambushing each others then curled up a few feet apart from each others and laid in the sun and didn't get up untill it started getting dark. Wife got pictures but she just got a new camera and wasn't used to it and had it on auto focus trying to take pictures through the window. I got a vid with my phone that I'll try download.
