my concern is the flight characteristics due to the shape of the pellets.

I have never personally shot it, but know guys that do and they love it. They say it is lightning fast and knocks em dead. I questioned how they patterned because of the unique shape but apparently it patterns just fine.

Never shot it and probably never will. I have had good luck just shooting the cheap stuff.

Never have.. sounds like u need a special choke designed specifically for that stuff if u use aftermarket extended chokes..

U don't need a specific choke to shoot it. I just don't think u are supposed to shoot it out of a regular pattern master.

I did some more digging and some are saying not to use a wad stripper choke.

Have used it a lot as I got it cheap. Good results over decoys. Impressed me was the penetration. Seems to do the job but recoils like a mother#%£¥¥€

To many pennies to shoot that stuff and I kill enough geese with my blue box BB's so I'll just stick with what works.

Not knockin the stuff. I just don't see the need to spend more money when I kill all the geese I want with my blue boxes from scheels for $9.99 a box. Add to the fact that there are special choke issues with blindside that need to be considered. When the hunt is good and a buddy runs out of bullets, I can throw him a blue box and we carry on with no worries.

well the Bakken struck again. Went in to Walmart today to buy it and It was now marked up to $21.99. Guess they forgot the Bakken markup lol

Federal blue box shoots them as dead as any. All the fancy ammo and fancy chokes are a gimic form people to buy it. Walmart has some cheap ammo. I think scheels sells the federal stuff for $12 box and $10 when on sale. The blue box ammo is better than the of the rest bargain ammo.

Don't shoot black cloud or blind side through a wad stripper choke. That ammo is designed for the wad to stay with the shot longer. Wad stripping chokes ruin the patterns

I'm going to order a case of Fiochi steel from Rogers online. $10.99 a box by the case. I love the Fiochi pheasant loads. But they have the federals for $11.99 I think.
