I know of a taxidermist that was going through a bad divorce and his awful human being of a wife unplugged the freezer with all of his clients fish and birds. Not sure if your guys situation is better or worse. This may be another reason why I think I'm done with mounts. Would rather spend the money on more hunts/fishing trips.

That's an easy fix. Just knurl the barrel before pressing it into the trunnion, spot weld just to be sure.

Rick has had my bird going on 3 years. I have texted him over a dozen times, it's either no reply back, or he is too busy to talk, "he'll get a hold of me later" which never happens. Calling is not an option, he will not answer. He had no problem cashing my deposit. Don't know what to do besides wait it out and keep on pushing. Wish a guy can go to his front door and punch him right in the face without getting into trouble.

has any one ever had this many issues with a taxidermist before? I think we are all grown men and understand shit happens in life for better or worse, but god dam why cant he pick up a phone, drop a text, email, put something on his facebook page, his internet site something for god sakes hes running a business and I cant speak for all of us but the vasy majority are sick of him and his piss poor communication.

Nevada miller took quite awhile for my borthers deer but heres the difference he regulary called with updates and would accept payment until the deer was done..thats a professional not sure what rick is but its not that.

Dropped off a blue, snow and ross with 5 different bands on them including a neck band. After 4 years calling about once a year all I wanted was the bands back. Ended up with nothing.

I will also add that Rick did tell me the birds were skinned and froze in water when I talked I him about a year ago questioning the quality of the birds being in the freezer that long. I know on forums that I've read if they are preserved properly like that they will last quite a long time. Either way another trip to Rhode Island isn't in my budget for awhile and I really just want my birds back and to be of the quality they were when I dropped them off and of what should be expected of a quality taxidermist. Unfortunately I just don't know if that will happen. i feel others pain that have birds there. I know that he's mounted King eiders that were from his trip that he took a year or two after I dropped my birds off and I don't feel that was the right thing to do.
