is there any sort of water nearby or in the field. they will loaf in their feed field during the day very very often, making afternoon hunts impossible.
fuck early season, just another season the blue-platers and sconis have trashed. add in the fact that this year both sd and minn arent having an august season and you have a recipe for an extra huge shit-show in nd. after opening day everything will be shot up and finding fields worth hunting will be far and few between for 3 weeks or so. maybe im just getting old or maybe i dont like dealing with the bullshit anymore but id rather drive 60 miles and put a boat into a lake i cant be denied to access and pound some eyes. i miss the early days when no one hunted early season and the limit was 5. a guy could actually relax then. now its a joke
So what does everybody do once they've got all the goose meat they can handle? I don't goose hunt and never really been around anybody that has seriously, but at some point the serious hunters can't possibly handle any more meat at a certain point. Do you just stop hunting? Or do you need an address where you can drop a few tons off at lol?
Making Goose/Deer mixed summer sausage will burn up lots and lots of goose meat REAL QUICK!! I mix my Goose meat in with Venison in a 50/50 mix and then add pork in an equal amount. So the end product is 25% goose, 25% Venison, and 50% pork. It's not icky!!! Went through 75 lbs of goose meat last year and there is NONE left right now.

I know a lot of people who make sticks or sausage out of goose. Tastes the same as deer. I would bet people don't stop hunting some hopefully not much is going to waste. An annual sausage making weekend goes along way to getting everything made up!
Why do you refreeze to make your jerkybest investment i made was a dam good grinder and stuffer. i grind my goose as soon as i get enough and do it regulary throughout the season. that way if i need to unthaw it i have ground goose ready for whatever you want, jerky, burger, sticks, summer sausage, brats etc
