Don't forget to install some overhead fans. I have 2 in our 3 stall garage and they are also wireless so i can control from the ground. Each one is on a separate controller.

I believe I posted the specs for the 46" Phillips fluxstream.

Here are the specs for the 48". I'm placing my order now! This is the cheapest I could find them...can anyone do better?

I'm putting one big one right in the middle. I will have some extra boxes installed before the lid goes up, so I may add another one down the road. They will be switched next to the door going into the house.

I have the product of 1971 wiring in my garage so I'm stuck with old screw in fixtures until I can lure my father in law to come to bismarck. I found some giant bulbs at menards, which I'm guessing are for the light on the nose landing gear of a 747. They are incredibly bright and add a bit of warmth to the garage. Because of the heat they put off, I wanted to go to LED fixtures like you decided on.

so, just buy screw in LEDs. or are you saying the giant bulbs you found are LEDs? i am assuming they aren't because of the heat they put off. it they aren't, you are pissing away a lot of money on electricity. screw in LEDs will cost a fraction of any large bulb that is wasting a bunch of electricity producing heat.

Because they produce a bunch of light. I'm not going to buy LED bulbs until I get new fixtures installed.

and to be honest, they're not on very much so I can't imagine I'll go broke running them.

Rust sucks. Luckily, crankbait doesnt have any quite yet. Unfortunately, vehicle rotation is in my wife's favor this time around.

Was out in Billings and stopped at Sam's club and they had some garage LED overhead lights. They also had an LED overhead bench light.

Just stopped at Sam's here in bismarck and they didn't have the garage overhead lights here just the LED for above a work bench.

How come people don't put recessed lights in their garages, and put white LED flood lamps in them? I've seen them in the house obviously, and I've seen them put into the soffit and used as exterior lighting, so why not in the garage?

I wouldn't go with anything other than these. I have 7 of them hanging in a 1250 sqft garage- they are spaced about 10 feet apart vaulted ceiling, about 20' high in the middle, about 14' high where the fixtures are. They are just screwed into regular old cheap plastic light bulb fixtures. Garage is probably the brightest room in my house.

I use these as well.

recessed lights are inherently less efficient than lights where the bulbs are more in the open, every time light hits a surface, even if it is efficient at reflecting (flat white or mylar) you loose a % of the light (usually about 10%). Also if you have a problem with the fixture, you have to rip up your ceiling to fix it, which would suck.

I just redid all the lights in my garage. I have 2 ceiling fans and 5 regular socket bases. I just put all LED in it, they are a combination between 500, 1000, and 1500 Lumen bulbs and the are all 5000k light spectrum. Its so bright in there at night that the little lady doesn't like to turn the lights on before she goes to work in the morning any more. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone else get headaches from rooms with bright fluorescent lights ? I'm good for a couple hours but after that I start getting a headache that worsens until I get out of there.
