I have an older StrikeMaster Lazer Mag auger. It will start up and idle fine, but when I open it up and put pressure on it for drilling it dies out. Does anyone have any ideas on the problem? Does anyone have any recommended shops in Fargo that work on ice augers? :;:help

they also pick up and drop off snowblowers and mowers...I know they were just running a special on snowblowers...like $100 for a tune up and they will pick it up

I had one of those little Mantis tillers(as seen on TV) got it from my Dad...I took it in and they got it running even when they had never seen one before

...I believe this is one of the mechanics that worked at the Garden Hut before it closed

Sounds like you need a carb kit or your air vent on the gas cap isn't open. Pretty easy DIY project if you're so inclined

Carb kit may get looked into if I do not take it in. Air vent is surely opened as I have made that error before.

Sell it and buy a too old, too heavy Jiffy model 30- white power head(racist). Problem solved. Probably outlast you.

Love my old heavy Jiffy Model 30 but alas it is the one going into the shop. Have rebuilt the carb (i'm not very mechanically challenged just not a small engine guru) a couple times and replaced cap and still it leaks gas through the carb no matter what and just can't find the problem in the fuel line system. I'm probably going to regret it as it is more than likely something simple I'm overlooking and could have done myself.

I bet you could rip that carb out, soak it in some cleaner, blast it good with compressed air and it'd run like a top.

Just don't lose any of the teeny tiny pieces...

Tygon fuel line available at Napa (spendy but worth it). Throw the black stuff away. Regular fuel line will deteriorate where it can't been seen by eye and may not fit properly. Find out spec size from the Mfg.

I finally upgraded from that POS Jiffy propane auger I had, this thing works ten times better.

Couple that up with homelite chain saw and A Model A steering sector and you will really have something. :) I bet I have the only one within 1000 miles. Times were tough when I was a kid but we sure had fun.

replaced it due to embarrassment in 1980 with model 30 jiffy , Still using it.

Had a spoon auger first, then a Mora fin bore, then my Jiffy 30 in the early 80's that still runs great but retired it 2 years ago for a Ion, electric only way to go, but I bet a carb kit will do the trick for you GSM

Catch'n bass, could be a real simple fix, diaphram pushing on needle allowing fuel to pass, place gasket on first before diaphram, on the older jiffy's they went on both ways.If remember right ones stamped with F gasket first. Do remember having some trouble with
Prime line needles being slightly long would opt for tecumseh kit if available

That is what I have figured and I tried the new gasket if I remember correctly. Will have to take another look at it now that the temps are starting to come down. I'm sure it is something simple.
