The Twins and the east end of Sak have a lot in common.
What's that? Buncha overweight 44yr olds throwing any sort of junk they can think of to find success, which is really good when it works, but pretty ugly when it don't?

I just want to scream when I watch Big Sexy pitch, but when it works, it works.
Lol it's kind of funny watching some of these guys. An old fart throwing 85mph and gives up no runs thru 7 innings and then the next night a 25yr old fire baller is chucking it 95mph and gets lit up. Shows you the lost art of pitching in todays game. If they would teach these kids how to actually pitch and not worry about hitting 100mph they could probably throw more then a hundred pitches and 5 innings! What's that? No doubt it is a weird game. Goes to show if you can change speeds, put the ball where you want it and make the ball move you can pitch at any level. I was pretty skeptical of the Colon move at first, but it is kind of fun to see him just go out there with the honey badger attitude and kind of go through the game with a smirk on his face like "I could care less if you guys can hit this, if you can I'll just retire and lay on the beach." No way am I expecting him to continue having starts like this but it's fun while it lasts.
I do feel better about our chances since we'll only have to beat the Yankees once instead of 3 out of 5.
Anyone in charge of player personnel should be embarrassed by the pitching staff. They have done nothing of significance to improve in the last couple years. This year alone they picked up a pitcher just to trade him right away and they also gave away their closer with no real replacement in the pen. That being said, I am super happy that they are doing as good as they are and are almost surely going to make it into the wild card game. Sadly, that game will be against the Yankees in NY where we have been totally dominated. The nice thing about baseball is that the best team doesn't always win so the Twins have a chance!
For those of you that follow the Twins, who do you even consider their best pitcher?
