The Twins and the east end of Sak have a lot in common.

What's that? Buncha overweight 44yr olds throwing any sort of junk they can think of to find success, which is really good when it works, but pretty ugly when it don't?

I just want to scream when I watch Big Sexy pitch, but when it works, it works.

Gibson makes me scream at the TV. It usually goes something like this: "Throw a fricken strike already! Noooooo, just not there!"

Lol it's kind of funny watching some of these guys. An old fart throwing 85mph and gives up no runs thru 7 innings and then the next night a 25yr old fire baller is chucking it 95mph and gets lit up. Shows you the lost art of pitching in todays game. If they would teach these kids how to actually pitch and not worry about hitting 100mph they could probably throw more then a hundred pitches and 5 innings!

No doubt it is a weird game. Goes to show if you can change speeds, put the ball where you want it and make the ball move you can pitch at any level. I was pretty skeptical of the Colon move at first, but it is kind of fun to see him just go out there with the honey badger attitude and kind of go through the game with a smirk on his face like "I could care less if you guys can hit this, if you can I'll just retire and lay on the beach." No way am I expecting him to continue having starts like this but it's fun while it lasts.

Yeah, I like his demeanor too. I can't help but think his fastballs would get eaten up and spit out over the fence by better hitting teams like the Astros or Cleveland. After all, his ERA is 8. But baseball is funny, any player can get hot (or cold) at any time. I will enjoy it while it lasts.

Going to game during the Rangers series in couple of weeks. I'm hoping Big Sexy is pitching.

I think Big Sexy is in the game because he still loves to play the game, not for the cash but Iam sure it helps.

This team is driving me insane. Get curb stomped by the yankees, then take Detroit behind the woodshed. They'll probably be WC2 which is cool but God help me they need to get pitching this offseason.

Very difficult to acquire starting pitching any way other than drafting or trading for prospects unless you pay ridiculously - and even that hasn't been all that successful (Nolasco, Hughes had one good year). Hopefully they can get lucky with another Santana type.
Kinda fun to be relevant at this time of year although the likelihood of going anywhere is pretty much nil. Very encouraging to see guys like Buxton, Polanco, Rosario, Kepler, etc. really blossom. Too bad Sano can't get healthy. I do feel better about our chances since we'll only have to beat the Yankees once instead of 3 out of 5.

Anyone in charge of player personnel should be embarrassed by the pitching staff. They have done nothing of significance to improve in the last couple years. This year alone they picked up a pitcher just to trade him right away and they also gave away their closer with no real replacement in the pen. That being said, I am super happy that they are doing as good as they are and are almost surely going to make it into the wild card game. Sadly, that game will be against the Yankees in NY where we have been totally dominated. The nice thing about baseball is that the best team doesn't always win so the Twins have a chance!

For those of you that follow the Twins, who do you even consider their best pitcher?

their best pitcher is Santana hands down . Now , in the future I think it'll be berrios he just needs to continue to get better . After that they have nothing . Sure Gibson is 12-10 now but they score tons of runs for him, he's awful , Never know if he will give you 1 inning or 6 . Colon helped out when he was on his hit streak but let's face it he's done. They need to get another #3/4 type of guy for medium salary this off season . Might need to trade one of their young players to do it , I'd be fine letting Rosario go for a good pitcher . If they had any bullpen at all they'd have 92 wins right now instead of 82

Well it's set. Santana against Severino. We only have to be better than them for one game. We got a chance. I really think the Twins would be competitive against the indians. 6-3 in Cleveland this year.

If the offense can stay hot and score 8 runs, they‘ll be golden. I will be watching!
