jigs at arm floaties is crossing a line that cant be un crossed
It's the only real way to catch a walleye, in my honest opinion.

I think the guy on shore was pretty much an ass hat, but casting jigs 170ft to where your boat was sitting? That guy has a pretty good set up if he can cast a jig that far. I don't think your telling the whole story
especially a 1/2 jig -- i thought that too. They must of been closer and the bridge was 170ft away ---correct?

what would a custom painted arm floaty run.. I am asking for a freind
makes sense velva --- can they fish off the top of the bridge? I am not used to seeing that allowed.
Lets back track a bit here. This particular spot is a well known shore fishing spot and has been at least since the 70s. You rarely see boats fishing close to the bridge unless no one is fishing on the bridge. A boat will never be in that area first because when the bite is on there are people on the bridge before sun up. So the theory of a boat being there first is false 99% of the time. I am not saying it is right to throw jigs into a boat. Put yourself in the shore fishermans place. Example you are casting 110 feet from the bridge and catching fish. A boat comes by and sees you catching fish. So they position there boat near where your casting and this prevents you from getting your jig in the correct spot and you stop catching fish. Are you telling me that you would not say anything to that fisherman? Me personally I would be telling that person to get the hell out of there. (I wouldn't cast my jig into the boat). These type of things happen frequently up there and this is why I rarely partake in the shit show. Again if you don't have experience in an area or you just feel like you want to get nose to nose with someone over a fishing spot go ahead and park your boat by the bridge. By the way the fish are biting pretty good from the dam to Green so there is plenty of areas to fish but na lets park the boat by 40 shore fisherman.

Riggen - your telling me this time of year that people are lining up at that bridge to fish in the dark? Wow must be a hot spot. I went last weekend on DL and didnt see a boat or a person and only birds on the lake.
Velva - no doubt you dealt with a bunch of aholes --- you handled it proper imo.
I would give anything to live in minot and have that much fishing within 50miles. My truck would always head south though.
If you were familiar with this area you would understand. The area is pretty confined. To me it doesn't matter who was there first. I could give a shit if you want to be a dumb ass and drive your boat close to an area that has been known as a shore fishing spot for decades. And yes in the fall or spring when the bite is on there are people at the bridges before it gets light out. For those of you that don't fish the bridge I wanted to let everyone know the back ground of the place to help avoid run ins like Velvas. If you don't agree go up there and cause a fight. I don't give a shit as 90% of the time I fish Sak. If I did go up there in my boat I sure as hell wouldn't sword fight with a bunch of shore fisherman when I have 20 miles of lake to fish. But if you want to keep arguing that it is your God given right to fish any spot as long as I your the first go right ahead. But don't come on here and cry when panties get in a bunch.
