CatDaddy, I live up here and can steer you to some fish spots if you like, PM or email me at getthenet@wi-net.com if you like. Take care
I just wanted to thank you all one more time for the outpouring of support and information that's been shared with my family about Metigoshe. It is VERY much appreciated and again why I love this site!
Just disappointed I didn't get GPS coordinates and a guarantee on a spot for 12" bluegill ;:;rofl :::
There's a trade off. You have helped me and others on here before. I have 8 and a half grand kids in your neck of the woods and the older ones all love to go fishing with Papa . Not looking for honey holes just like to try to get them catch edible fish so I can teach cleaning and eating too. We can catch little bullheads right in the backyard but I wanna show them cleaning and cooking fishing. I've eaten bullheads and they are ok if you catch big ones, All we catch is dinks but they still have a blast as long as Papa takes them off the hook.
I'll be out on Metigoshe before you and I'll PM you some waypoints to structure and some where we caught fish. For some reason the good structure like you see in other lakes that produces Walleye only seems to yield Northerns for me most of the time. Walleyes are scattered but concentrate in weird areas . Be prepared to catch a lot of small northerns with a mixed bonus keeper. It's all fun.

Assume you have a depth finder. There are 3 areas that you can get in trouble in and they are shown on the attached map. The first 2 are after you go under the bridge to go to the "South" Lake. If you are going to go south after going under the bridge you need to take a very wide turn around the point before you go south. If you are going back to the "North" lake and are approaching the bridge along the north shore you need to give the point before the bridge good clearance. The 3rd place is if you go into the south west bay "Hahn's Bay and you approach from the east there is 1 big rock that can come up unexpedly. Give that point a wide berth too. Just don't go pedal to the medal before you check points out. Metigoshe is mostly 10 to maximum of 22 feet deep.

Are there any fish in School Section Lake that the Yurt is on? I don't see any Game and Fish data on it....
I've never heard of anyone fishing there.
Well our second trip to Metigoshe is tomorrow - finally headed to the yurt! We are excited and ready for some baby turtles as well as more fishing than we got to do last time....doesn't look like the wind will be blowing 40 mph everyday unlike our previous trip. We are going to hit up some of the spots we didn't get to on our last adventure (Mystical Horizons etc), geocache, bike, hike, and fish! Of course some bocci ball and croquet are also in our future....
