This, it's unreal how many drivers are looking at their phones while driving.

If caught make it a $500 fine.
Last night I passed a car and my wife said he was texting with both hands and driving with his knees.

If I come up on someone driving in the left lane and won't move over. I will pass them then pull into left lane and slow down. On interstate I drive between 80 and 82 mph. I have had drivers pull back into the right lane. After I pull away they move back into the left lane. In MN the left lane is for passing. If they catch you just driving in the left lane they will ticket you.

DICK MOVE

Road rage

Road rage, which includes harrassing another driver on the road by slowing and speeding up, is illegal. Depending on the circumstances, it may constitute a felony or misdemeanor under state and federal road rage/aggressive driving laws.

In general, those sections with the 3rd lane are usually marked as to remain in the right lane except to pass. In that case, one can certainly be ticketed for not allowing you to pass them on their lefthand side.
In SD they have signs that say slower traffic go right. I don't automatically move right just to go up one hill unless pulling a boat or see someone wants around .

How is passing in the right lane without having to change lanes to pass on a 4 lane divided highway dangerous ? How is driving in the left lane on a 4 lane divided highway dangerous ?
I agree with what AI said mostly. What I noticed while driving interstate is that when people don't hang out in the left lane traffic flows better. There's always someone trying to speed whether it's an emergency or they're just making time. IMO when traffic gets conjested it's more dangerous. Leaving the left lane open allows those to pass easier. And when you do pass someone, get you ass around them as quickly and safely as you can! Don't just hang out with your cruise control passing them slowly. When I was in Germany the atuobon flowed much better with a lot more traffic as they all seemed to get it. Maybe it's the month long driving course required to get a license there that hammers it home.

Cant win with them Rowdie. Some of these guys are just insufferable. They think because they are on the road its theirs. Same situation with shore fishermen vs boat fishermen. Because they are in a boat, they own the water. But NOBODY thinks THEY are the asshole. Everybody ELSE is the asshole. Its just the way the world is going unfortunately.

I don't recall left lane drivers assuming they own the road or calling anyone an asshole but there are quite a few right lane drives that have called others assholes.

I do know that whoever uttered this phrase is a road raging asshole that is breaking the law. "I like to get in front of left lane drivers and then slow down to make them move over. Then I speed back up. "

Or the guy that said this but gets upset when a similar thing is done to them. " Then in town, 2 lane where the speed limit is 40mph, drive up behind somebody doing 28mph, go to pass them, then they speed up to not let me by. Very few things piss me off in an instant more than that."

Unless you get your anger under control you will end up living in a van down by the river.

No more evidence needed. Insufferable. I hope V doesn't wonder why people are leaving this site.
And how do you know I don't already live in a van down by the river?

It sure doesn't mean 5-10 under the limit.
You might want to take up pedal bike riding since you obviously have all fucking day to get nowhere.

So, you just admitted you drive above the speed limit which is breaking the law and at the same time you are bitching about someone probably driving the legal speed limit but you have to insist they get out of your way in the left lane so you can continue speeding even though the right lane is open. And to it off you admitted you intentionally slow down in front of them which is harassment and aggressive driving. Also: These are ND laws....Not shit hole far left Minn. laws.

I usually drive 5-10 under the speed limit but if I am driving the speed limit on a two lane and someone tailgates me, I just slow down a little bit to get them to go around me. If I'm on a 4 lane or Interstate driving the speed limit in the left lane for whatever reason and someone comes up behind and starts to tailgate me, I won't more over because I don't want to encourage them to speed and put other people's lives at risk! Speeders and aggressive drivers kill people!
Any thing you say is null and void till you find the gas peddle

This has surely been a fun read, much like it is every time the topic comes up. For sure, we rarely understand what the other driver is thinking.

For example, on my way into Bismarck today, I had the misfortune of getting through the local roundabout right behind a road grader doing about 25 mph in a 35 mph zone. Courteous fella pulled over onto the shoulder of the road to allow me to pass. Good on him!

About a mile farther down the road, I ended up behind a Jeep with a driver who then chose to go ~13 mph below the posted speed limit for the next several miles while I was unable to pass because of oncoming traffic which was moderately frustrating. After a few miles, that driver turned onto a 4-lane highway with a 55 mph speed limit and quickly sped up to 60 mph. Even now, several hours later, that pattern of driving still doesn't seem to make any sense. Who knows, maybe he was having a breakfast burrito during his slow driving, and then had to rush to an outhouse?

Like I said, it's sometimes really hard to understand what people have for reasons they are driving the way they are. I am going to guess based on some of the above posts that at times we are all the cause of frustration for some other driver.

I try like heck to be courteous to my fellow drivers, and even then I have expletive laden questions every now and then. Driving just seems to be a microcosm of life in general.

Hwy 22 N up to the lake has every 5-8 miles a passing lane for getting vehicles holding up traffic off to the far right and let the non retards get around them. Funny thing is more often than not the guy clogging up the traffic is going 60 in a 65, but as soon as we get the chance to get around the piece of driving shit they suddenly find the accelerator and start going 70+ as if to not let anyone get around them. The passing lane ends, and back to 60 they go... That will give even the Pope a temper tantrum.

Everyone should be issued two AT4 anti tank rockets with their drivers license. They can be used at anytime during their driving lifetime against people who they consider shitty drivers with no repercussions. Just remember, EVERYONE has two.

I asked AI about this and really the only reason its considered 'dangerous' is because people might not expect it. If both parties followed safe driving procedures, checking their mirrors and signaling before changing lanes, its no more dangerous than passing on the left, BUT because the person on the left might not expect someone to pass on the right, they might change lanes without signaling or looking, assuming no one would be there. SO REALLY any danger resulting from people passing on the right is caused by the person on the left.
I rarely pass on the right, but do it from time to time when it's clear they won't move over. I usually attempt the "I'm way closer to your bumper than I need to be" approach to force them to the right lane.

But when I do pass on the right, I am always on high alert in case they are so oblivious that they start to change lanes while I'm next to them. Usually kick it down and just get it over with quickly.

Hold on....are you suggesting we "seek to understand" what others are experiencing and give grace? I, for one, am perfect and shouldn't need to do this.
