There building one in Ellendale. They chose there because of ample water and electricity.

I won't complain about how APLD stock did yesterday with the announcement of this news.

The power use is incredible. Think of when Clark turns on his Christmas lights…pretty similar. I am curious what the grid can handle.

Listen to a guy who is building modular nuclear reactors and he said we need to double the capacity of our grid in the next 10 years with the amount of data centers being built or there will be major power issues.

I am getting a generator to run off my propane in the near future as i see brown outs becoming a thing

Saskatchewan is planning to put in two SMRs (Small Modular Reactors) over the next few years. I don't know why they call them "small" though, they may not be the behemoths of Three Mile Island, but they aren't "small" in my eyes.

The one this guy is working on is the size of a shipping container they are going to try a couple out in remote Alaskan villages. They will be about to power the towns for 30 years is the goal. It sounds like alot of these data centers are also looking to use the same tech on site as worries about the grid being able to power them are increasing

They must make noise, I saw Williston residents filed a civil lawsuit against the one over there.

Anyone else wonder if this is what Bitcoin miners were doing all along? It seems like they’ve changed that narrative a few times.

Prior to 9/11/2001, there were very small generators that produced electricity through radioactive decay being planned for commercial installs at rural homes. If I remember correctly, they were supposed to cost around $20-$40k and last for 50 years. I haven't heard squat on them since.
