I have the wireless TrollMaster, it works fine but honestly I'd go wired if I were to put one in again.

Have you trolled cranks at all or is just the leadcore new to you?

Itroll has been my go to. One thing itroll has that troll-master doesn't is hunt modes. It allows you to use a preprogrammed or your own custom programmed mode that will automatically adjust you're speed up and down to help trigger bites without ever touching the throttle. It's kind of like when a person makes a turn and the inside or outside rod gets a hit from the lure speeding up or slowing down. They do have a wireless remote option however I have not used that and didn't order it. The speed control is almost infinite with 1,000 throttle positions that allow you to perfectly dial in speed every-time.

I've been in my buddies boat a few times and did very well with leadcore which is what got me thinking that I need to get into it. I trolled leadcore last weekend for the first time in my boat. I used my kicker to push me to about 1.7 mph and then my trolling motor to fine tune the speed and direction. Worked ok. lots to learn.

Just south of Canada eh
I wouldn't suggest Trollmaster wireless. Mine last 2 years...receiver isn't functioning and it's non replaceable. Will definitely be replacing with a different brand.

So i am going to go against the grain here and say dont get any of them. Use a tiller kicker for trolling led and regular. I know i am going to get heat from the electro troller crowd and all their fine tuning of speeds etc. In MY opionion..owning both....nothing beats the tiller kicker in control. Thats all i am going to say..its my preference. Do they work? Sure, yup, absolutly. Is it the best option..not in my opinion..unless you like cranking on a steering wheel all day. Again this is just my opinion using electro and tiller. Use thw money to buy more cranks

Installed wired trollmasters on previous and current boat. Use it all the time. Easy install and zero issues. Heard good things about iTroll also.

I have a tiller kicker and still use the itroll..........few are sawing on steering wheel anymore. I drop my ulterra, set it around 3-5 power level and steer with that with the kicker locked in forward. Catch a fish, tap the idle button on the itroll while the Ulterra maintains line tension and direction for the other lines while I reel in the fish. works great....................

I've always had tiller kickers and some without any type of throttle control and there is no good way to fine tune speed trying to twist the handle and get it locked into a specific throttle position, especially in the 1.5 to 2.5 mph range where most baits are trolled with a kicker.

Yup been there done that..could still do it. If you know how to run your boat..non of it is needed. I can keep my boat with a tiller kicker in pretty much any wind(within reason) and current at 1.75 if i want to without electro..does it take time to learn? Sure. Can some days be more challenging then others? Sure. Do i still use my bow mount? Yup after a few beers or I am babysitting others in the boat. I can also say every other boat i have fished in..the guy running the tiller without all the electro stuff has usually been a better fisherman/boat control then the guy thay sets a speed and uses the bow mount.. like i said my opinion for the guy that asked the question..sometimes its not always about the electronics..maube take a stab at it without and see how it goes. If he doesnt have a tiller its a mute point as i would go with electeo conteol over using forward controls

No tiller. Kicker is linked to the big motor. I'm leaning towards iTroll

I steer with the bowmount and just adjust the speed on the trollmaster. With auto piolet it really works well, and the idle feature when a fish is on is sweet too.

I have the G3 I troll and like it. Easy to use. Used the remote once just to see if it worked. All the other times just turned the knob. I think you will like it.

My boat came with wired Trollmaster and it works well but the servo motor got weak in mine Found universal servos for less than $5 online. In fact , I ordered enough parts and hardware online to build two of them for about $25 but the controllers are cheezy.
