To the 157 lucky schmoes who got a rifle tag after gratis. Kidding, but kind of not kidding. Shoot a big one and if you can't manage that, shoot a tasty one. Then post up the pics, properly tagged at kill site to avoid silliness of course, so I can talk bad about you with those who were sidelined this year, critique your personal hygiene, comment on your substandard fashion sense, and generally bad mouth you as a human being. Carry On!

No tag for me again, however I get to live vicariously through my son.

I took my boy out Saturday. For 12, I was extremely impressed. He made it 8 hours outside in the freezing cold and wind. We saw only two does, and he couldn't get a clean window for either to make a shot. We took Sunday off because, well frankly, our butts were kicked.

I'm going to get him out tomorrow since they have no school for Veteran's Day. Hopefully we can find some doe willing to play!

Good luck everyone else!

Congratulations. That is awesome in many ways!
Thank you. The taxidermy bill for the life sized mount is going to hurt, but it's going to be well worth it. The excitement and joy on his face will forever be remembered. I told him he got a super rare deer for his first ever deer so he may as well shoot the state record in a few years when he gets his first buck tag.
