Just got to the hardware store and pick up some good rope, no hardware needed. Slip knot around the canines and slip knot around your hand or waist and you're good to go.. I prob have 15-20 drags just so I always have one handy.
I have a big loop that goes over my head and on a shoulder and under one arm and about 8 ft back put a loop thru the mouth and behind the canines. Pull with your body and not your hand, or arm. For multiple animals a half hitch thru the 2nd mouth. You drag a couple of Coyotes 1/4 or 1/2 mile with your arm and hand in deeper snow and its going to be tired.

Picking up my thermal tomorrow. Got the Nocpix Bolt l35r. Going to mount on my ruger 22 arc bolt gun. Hope can figure out how to use it! I need to get a drag too. I usually make my son throw them over his shoulder lol. But now not home as much as he's in college.
Assuming that’s a Ruger American. Do yourself a favor and do whatever you can to shorten the stock as short as it’ll go before you start shooting.

For sighting in, alumized HVAC tape is your friend. Heat packs turn into a blob.

I was told to find a cheap 30 mm cantilever mount. Works best I guess.
AND put the shortest module on your stock. 1.5-2" of eye relief. IME, cantilevers take care of about half of that. So, you can crane your neck, or swap the pad and shoot comfortably.

Got another couple last night before the fog set in. First stand nothing second seen three but they would not commit. Third we were just south of a yard and used coyote vocals and with in 5 minutes they charged in male and female. Female was the bigger light colored one.

That lady yote is pretty. How was the fur quality? If'n it were me, I'd think on tanning that one. We don't get those snowballs up this way very often.

She was pretty nice no rubs or anything. Male was a little rubbed and not that good. Buddy I was with took the female home and think he is going to tan it. His dad knows pelts really good so was going to check it out this morning.
