Any of these posts that lean, even slightly, toward being a political topic, almost always end up being a slog of political banter. I agree that politics plays a part in a lot of things in our life, but the political back and forth on this site had gotten out of hand. It had gotten into almost every thread. Maybe I overextended in putting the "Feminism" thread into the politics section, but at that time, and moving forward, I would like to play it safe.

We have been seeing new people join the site, again, and some good outdoor discussions, and that has been nice to see.

The politics section is still there for those of you who like to partake in those conversations.

I think you nailed it. The only reason I'm still able to visit this site is because I haven't seen the political BS nearly as much lately. I nearly left for good a few months ago. This is an outdoors website. There are many other websites where we can debate politics if we want.

I understand wanting there to be some separation and not turn everything into a political pissing match but if you are a person who “isn’t political” and doesn’t want to pay attention ever, don’t be surprised when political theater takes away your ability to enjoy the outdoors down the road. Unfortunately EVERYTHING is political in one way or another.

Problem is it’s an echo chamber and 90 percent copied from x. That and 99 percent has nothing to do with the out doors. It’s a trany banging Obama while taking the guns and injecting us with dire wolf dna while never questioning the group you believe in.

If people really cared they would get involved in real life and not play on the internet.

I don't mind political banter , I used to enjoy hearing all sides of all political issues but lost interest when it turned into a race to copy and paste. The only words that get typed anymore are about trashing camper so no others besides a rep dare to speak up. I think it's funny as hell that he lives in your heads rent free. What little enjoyment I get from politics on here, I get from him, that doesn't mean I'm dem so don't get that idea in your head.

My political mindset is that both our political teams play for the same school and should have more comradery and work together rather than act like rivalries from a Canadian hockey league.

There le simply a few folks that ruin it for everyone. It either turns to non stop reposts of X stuff or pissing matches between about 5 people. If you enter the thread with a reasonable demeanor you likely get crucified for not being on a side.

There are absolutely political outdoor topics that need discussion. If a few morons wouldn’t sidetrack them and turn things less than civil, there could be great discussions.

I like how it’s policed and feel it’s necessary given those who usually tank every thread.

So you read something interesting, and we're supposed to paraphrase it, type it in ourselves, and remember it exactly? Or, isn't it easier to just paste a link to the information that's written very well, and can be verified by grok or other AI

x formerly twitter is actually posting real news while the lame street media cherry picks what they want when it fits their agenda.
