NDGF stocking Musky

They are planning on stocking Larimore Dam and Wood Lake. Im not a musky fisherman so dont really care but for those of you that target them (musky maniac) this should make your day.

Interesteing. I would have never pictured Larimore Dam, but if they have a good population of suckers that should do it. It will be many years before it amounts to anything, but it would be nice to have something reasonably close in ND to fish one day. Not real sure how many adult musky a 67 acre lake can sustain, but it will be a good experiment anyway.

as I mentioned, I have never targeted Musky but I understand there are Tiger musky in DL. I fish there often and have never seen one. Do musky and pike not like the same habitat? For as well as the pike thrive in the DL system, I thought the Muskies would as well???

Muskies tend to like a lot warmer water than pike.

They haven't stocked DL in a very long time and tiger muskie are sterile, so there is no reproduction.

Great, 2 more lakes I can't go swimming in anymore! I'm surprised they gave up on sweet brier. I thought there were some decent fish in there before they lowered it a couple years ago.

Someone needs to start posting the part about lowering possession limits on perch on all the sconi sites so they quite coming.

I know of what you say but how are they so established in Canada?

They have to live in their environment, of course, but in a given system the musky will be in warmer water compared to northern if possible.
