Came swimming up under our dock once and one of those huge barn spiders jumped onto my head. OK it probably fell onto my head when I hit it's Web but either way it was spooky as hell! Went thrashing backwards like i was having a seizure! I must say it felt good watching the 20 or so bluegills tear it to pieces.

Had a duck blind on a state park lake in Ohio one time, when I removed it in the spring, there were some large, as big as a silver dollar spiders on that thing. I must have been a better looking tree, crazy things kept swimming out to me or would just crawl down the posts into the water. I imagine from a distance, it was fun to watch; was before you tube so I was saved from that.

I am deathly afraid of spiders, but not tarantulas or scorpions. I can pick up handfulls of scorpions and let tarantulas crawl accross my face, but i cant get near a barn spider or a daddy longlegs....its weird, i know.

I seriously would be contemplating burning my house down! I know what it's like to have that feeling after you find a wood tick on you and you can feel them crawling on you for the rest of the summer. Don't even want to know what kind of nightmares that son of a bitch would give me! I'm sure everytime something brushed against me while I lay in bed it would freak me out and I don't have big fear of spiders. Did love watching him run by with the bowl stuck on his foot.

If you love spiders... next time you go prairie dog hunting... in the am after a rain there will be a Black Widow with her web on most of the abandoned holes... be careful their poison is worse than rattlers..

they were stunted blue gills so 20 is pretty believable now if he would have said one pound slab gills i would not buy it

daddy long legs no problem they dont count , but growing up if mom wanted my room cleaned till it shined she would just show me a squished spider in a Kleenex all it took , rats , snakes , mice no problem spiders need to die

Spiders never bothered me although I used to step on everyone I could when I was a kid . I was working in Utah and I got a headache and flu like symptoms one day but I thought I could tough it out. After a couple more hours it was kicking my ass and I was starting to think I might be having a heart attack. Went home and wife asked me what I did to my arm/shoulder, That was the first time I googled recluse spider bite . Believe me , You don't want one. I was only sick for a day but what I remember most is how stiff and sore my whole body was for 2 or 3 days.
The bite looked like I had been shot with a pellet gun at first and it was draining puss for a couple of days and turned into a groovy looking tie dyed tattoo on my arm. Anyone else had the pleasure of a recluse bite ? I was one of the lucky ones.

I was fortunate enough to get bitten just above the ankle while baiting bears about 10 years ago. Looked like a mosquito bite at first, then four hours later my leg had swelled up so bad I could barely get my muck boot off. Ended up in the ER with a hole the size of a silver dollar and the doctor talking about possible amputation. Glad I didn't play tough guy that day and wait any longer. The scar was cool but not being able to stand up for a week and being on crutches for weeks after that not so cool. So kill'em all.
