How come CJ Box in the book Blood Trail writes several times that a AR 15 fires automatic? It is a M16 that fires automatic, not a AR15. Why does his researchers allow that?

I hate those errors. Was reading a John Sanford book just recently and one of his characters needed a shotgun. Bought a short barreled 870 and 4 extra magazines.

Finally got to watch the Joe Picket TV series. He is equipped with an older bolt action 22.
If I remember the first book correctly he had a Winchester 94 25/35. The reason this sticks with me as that is what my first deer rifle was. WTF, I am sure any Game Warden would not have an old bolt action 22 for his rifle. Why not the one that the he had in the book?

The character Pendergast, in the series by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, is very interesting too. Not realistic, per se, but a great series. I'm not sure I've read them all, but they're good.

Got it Zman. The point being the author makes it sound like it is a quick clip type reload. Is every thing you posted for a quick reload? In a firefight you have time to change the tube and add shells?

All the books from the authors mentioned above are darned good! I’ve read em all except the newest CJ Box.
Another author, Steven Hunter, has a whole series of books starting with a Marine in WW2, then his sone in the 50’s, and then his son, etc. every one of his books is a grand slam homer and if you start the series I guarantee you won’t sleep till you’ve got em all read! Hunter even addressed the NRA convention a few years ago.
