An old pair of boots. Very short screws!!!
I used to put those in my old shoes for running in the winter. They worked great, just had to change the screws often. Once the heads wore flat it was like running on a dozen tiny hockey pucks. Still preferred them to yak tracks.

Bought some of those special screws years ago and they worked for a while but did not like them. Notice the slot cut in the hex head to give them "teeth".

They were very inconvenient when you didn't want to destroy flooring in a business or ice house as LB noted.

Also had some rip out after a while.
