Does anyone use a 16-18'' battery powered chainsaw ? Want a 16'' that I'll be using strictly for yard cleanup so a cheap one will do . Just wondering how long battery lasts in some of them.
I agree , I have 3 good running gassers on the shelf but I'm nursing a buggered up right shoulder. I can do just about anything and not even notice it but when I yank the rope on a chainsaw for some reason that makes it flare up again. I bought a 6 or 8'' mini chainsaw and I sure like that little guy for small jobs.I am pro electric chainsaw. Not having to deal with carbs, fuel mixtures, etc. is very nice! BUT - the smell of two stroke and ritual of starting/maintaining a gasser is a rite of passage and is very satisfying, both the scent and sound can't be beat.
Is it good and sharp ?I have the Milwaukee M18 16" chainsaw. Honestly wouldn't recommend it unless your just cutting small trees or branches. The chain oil reservoir has leaked from day one, and you overheat batteries after like 3 cuts on a decent size tree. I have 4 batteries and even cycling through them I have to stop for a while to let them all cool down.
I wouldnt recommend using an electric chainsaw to replace a gas one. If you are cutting stuff more than 6 inches or so thick, you arent using the right tool for the job.I have the Milwaukee M18 16" chainsaw. Correct. I bought it with just simple yard stuff in mind but have used it to gather firewood a few times. Should've went with a nice gas one right away.I wouldnt recommend using an electric chainsaw to replace a gas one. I have my 10" makita electric, a 14" echo gas thats fairly light and a 20" stihl professional saw thats a BEAST, but rarely gets used.I have a 12” 20 volt dewalt…I only use the big gas STIHL gas saw if I’m over 8” diameter. A buddy has the bigger dewalt battery saw and loves it. Love the lighter weight and no gas/starting issues
2-stroke exhaust is about the best smell there is. It should be bottled and sold as a perfume. I use a gas Stihl for larger projects and use my Milwaukee saws-all for smaller projects (branch clean up).I am pro electric chainsaw. Not having to deal with carbs, fuel mixtures, etc. is very nice!
