Vikes really beat themselves. Survived the punch that was the second quarter and got up off the mat to make it a heavy weight battle. Took the lead, just needed a few first downs with 4 minutes left to end with a W. I would not have kicked it back to them, too much time on the clock. Go for it on 4th down and leave it up to your offense.

That said, stat lines across the board were nearly identical. Time of possession, passing and rushing yards, sacks, turn overs within a few percentage points of each other. They scored more offensive TD's, we kicked more FG's and a scored a defensive TD.

Couldn't have been any closer, we just didn't finish when we had the ball last. Not excited for a loss, but happy with the effort. The sky is NOT falling.

Everyone goes 3-3 in their own division. It's what you do with the other 11 games that matters. On a side note, Cousins looked AWESOME yesterday...or not. He would have pissed down his leg against the Lions and the Vikings would have lost by two TD's or more. Good riddance.

Like I mentioned earlier, teams are getting more and more film on the Vikes and are starting to pick the defense apart. Still got hope though.

Detroit has been gouging the Vikes D for a while now. They're good, but the Vikes had their chances. Had a lead late in the game and just needed to get a couple 1st downs.

Ya if he is out it’s not going to be good. The team we are seeing tonight is what i expected to see from week 1 . Don’t think there is going to be a conundrum on what to do with darnold next year. He is looking twitchie and nervous not making quick reads. This defense is bad on the back end if you don’t get pressure on the qb right away.

Darnold looks better tonight than I expected honestly. It's the D that has me concerned - exactly what you described. Without Darrisaw this could go south in a hurry. We'll see what they do in free agency. Can't be giving up 8 yards a pop in the run game.
