Well first bait check was very satisfactory, at least in my opinion. Three baits out and all three are being hit. Have 7 different bear hitting two baits, only one little one hitting the third. But they sure seem hungry as they are coming in at all times of day and night. Nice white chest...

This pretty much sums it up. If taken care of right away it is excellent meat, only thing different is I trim ALL of the fat off, to me it gives it a pasty texture. We actually have taken care of every bear the evening shot, so it is quartered and on ice. One smaller bear we didn't, gutting...

    Deep Fryer Oil Disposal

Dam, I wish I lived close to all of you guys! I use about 50 gallons a fall baiting bear and I have a hard time getting that much. The local DQ lets me take a little out of their dumpster but don't think I am really suppose to as it is picked up regularly. I can buy chocolate infused oil in...

I used electric fence post but when they got loaded with cucumbers I needed to put in T posts, so will start with them this year. The trellis is a 16' pencil rod panel for cattle. If you want lots of carrots for over the winter, plant them in 5 gallon pails and put outside for the growing...

    What's in your garden?

Onions and potatoes have been in for a while, planted all peppers and tomatoes this week, rest in today. For you cucumber growers, here is how I grew mine on a trellis last year and it really saved on space, most off of the ground and the north side stayed moist all summer. This 16' row...

    MN Bear Hunting

That is exactly right, there is thousands of acres of public state and conservation land as well but outfitters can guide on public land in MN, so you will compete with them. Have had run ins with one for years, but we are winning that battle. For the past 5 years now we hunt private land and...
