No more messing with the clock in North Dakota

I wouldn't mind being able to deer hunt til 630 or later after work in November.

No more messing with the clock in North Dakota

Obviously it would be ideal if it could be light out when we go to work or school, but the sun comes up well after 8 in ND for pretty much all of Dec. and Jan. as it is without DST, I don't see how this would change much for kids catching the bus. Few kids walk to school anymore or walk very...

    Valley City area ice conditions

Drove by a couple lakes in that area that had quite a few pickups on them yesterday so access appears to be good. Probably will be a lot of changes by the weekend though with the big warmup coming.

    Sakakawea Outlook 2022?

It will be much easier to fill the freezer at Devils or Mille Lacs, especially if you are from MN :D

Winter is sure wearing on the deer!

Incredible that anything survives on their own during a winter like this in the eastern third of the state. Seems like they have been under a wind chill warning for a month.

Everybody has one friend that would make this mistake...

Dude was lucky his legs didn't get tangled up in the bars or canvas while being dragged around! About ten years ago was unloading my boat and wasn't quite off the bunks and my friend started pulling the truck out, just about dumped the boat on the ramp. Luckily it was a 16' aluminum so we...

    Ice Conditions February Weather

Big discrepancy between the eastern half of the state and the western this year. Certainly no worries in the eastern half, west of the MO river (including oahe/sak) it could get a little interesting if this continues much longer. Days are still pretty short so hard to melt much yet.

    Turbo Tax Et al.

I get in the neighborhood of 8-10 W-2s and 1099s and have to file self-employment forms with expense deductions every year and I've never paid more than $170 to have a firm do my taxes in Bismarck. Turbotax ain't free either.

    Alkaline Lake

Good to hear the wardens are patrolling it. I'll admit I didn't fish it last summer; too busy for me.

    Alkaline Lake

Follow the road/section line that runs east-west into the NW corner of the lake. It's probably the most common access point in the winter. I did notice the excavating that had been done there; I assumed it was a private development not a public ramp. But that should provide more room for...

    Alkaline Lake

I'm sure when they put that ramp in 15 years ago or whatever they never imagined it would get the traffic that it does. I'm guessing their ability to expand it has been limited by the lease they have with the private landowner. I've fished there I'm sure 50 times over the years and have...

    Alkaline Lake

I had heard some rumblings the last couple years that the people whose land the ramp is on were tired of the traffic and weren't going to renew the lease.

    The Official Wentz Wagon Thread

He's not Rogers or Brady but he'll be in the NFL as long as he wants to as long as his body holds up. I'd see him being one who'd hang it up in a couple years to preserve his health. Not like he'll need any more money.

    Betty White

Always enjoyed the theme song to Golden Girls, moreso the version by Andrew Gold though. RIP Betty, seemed like a sweet old lady. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lU4Zeiwvy6g
