The ice hasn't even began to deteriorate up there yet. You'll be fine in two weeks.
As for wheels versus tracks, tracks are preferred but you can get by with wheels and chains. Where wheels are going to struggle in the next few weeks is around pressure ridges. It will get more difficult to...
I'm sure it'll be fine. Everyone was talking doom and gloom about the ice last year too. We went the second to last weekend in March. Three weeks before that everyone said it was over. We went up and the ice was great. Honestly, conditions couldn't have been much better. The ice was smooth...
This weather is very bitter sweet for us ice freaks. If I'm gonna go, I'd rather go doing something I love doing though. Prayers to the family as this is a hard one to deal with. Be safe folks. Might not be able to fish those favorite spots anymore. Settle for a place you can drill your way...
Really? I think Centennial is about that price and electricity is included. Granted they have no water or even a dang dump station. Oh yeah and half the seasonal lots are in what looks like a trailer park. Nice people that run it, but I'm glad I don't have to worry about that anymore.

We'll be there the 3rd through the 6th, but we're staying in a cottage on the west side. From what I'm seeing snow hasn't been too big of an issue. There are ridge issues as always and of course make sure your tires are descent if you're driving on and bring a tow rope.
I've fished in them all and prefer the the Frabil for side door access making a higher front as well as durability seems to be among the best. I won't speak to their customer service as I haven't dealt with them.

Sadly most of the people I talked to are excited about Kiss coming.....again. People in this area seem to like hearing old rock songs over and over and over and over again. Why do you think hairball is successful? It pains me.
With a Zach shack you can fish in almost any conditions and it moves basically as fast as a portable. Oh and you can put it on 6" of ice easy. I enjoy my big shacks, but if I'm going to fish hard, I use the Zach.

Hasn't ruined it for me, but I definitely enjoy being up there a lot. Scheduled this year for first week in March. When you get on the ice, it's crazy the miles of ice you see without a fisherman on it. Fishing isn't denting the population up there considering the entire north basin is...
What size lures do most of you use? I hate that some brands speak in length and some by weight. Most of the ones I've had luck on would be the 2-2-1/2".
Dirty Mike, are you buying these as blanks?

I'm not sure if I'd change much from my previous trip. Headed up first weekend in March this year. Went 2nd to last weekend last year, so we'll see how much impact that will have on bite and fish location. I'd say move more...
Yeah we watch a lot through our Amazon account. The new fire tv is bad ass as well. I think Apple TV is also worth looking at. They have a lot of tv channels.
