Well this is going to get interesting

seriously. obviously these people don't need to work. Cut the federal aid these reservations are getting and use it to recoup the costs our state is spending. If these people want to protest, fine, I'm all for protecting our rights, but the moment they became violent I can no longer support...

    Question for dirty mike

speaking of health insurance and premiums, I saw that ND is expected to have on average a 1% increase. I don't know if that is valid, but if that is the truth, that is pretty damn good. Maybe why some of you saw a decrease in premiums. That same report showed AZ having a 116% increase in...

    Pre-Rut Activity?

Has anyone started to see some of the early signs? Scrapes, rubs etc? Usually Halloween weekend I start to see some and the big boys start moving as the corn and flower fields come down. Still haven't seen a rub or scrape in my area yet which is unusual. Cannot wait for that magical period...

    the CORN report ...

In my hunting area saw fields start coming off last weekend. Some fields were done complete and others had just started. This is the Washburn area.

    Hitting the woods Saturday!

Well I hope you don't have it going on in that area, but this time of year is known as the October lull. Most movement is nocturnal, at least the big boys. But if you have a crop field you may get lucky and find some does or smaller bucks. Another good area would be a creek or river bottom...

    Granite or Quartz Countertops?

I have had quarts for almost two years now. Mine are black. They are awesome. Have them in all bathrooms and kitchen. No complaints. They don't stain, and anything wipes up with ease. I can't say I have any complaints about them.

    Remington 700 in .308

I'm not a reloader so for now it will be factory loads. I will have to get into reloading at some point.

    Remington 700 in .308

So made the decision. Ended up with the Remington 700 5R Gen 2 in 308 w/ threaded barrel. The varminter 3.0 process has been started and hopefully doesn't take 10 months. Vortex Viper 6.5x20-44 optic on top and of course a Harris bipod. Can't wait to get this baby to the range and get the can...

best bowhunting gloves oct. to early nov.

I use the mid weight hot shots gloves. They are thin enough to still shoot the bow, but keep your hands warms. And also do what DM does. have the waist pouch with some hand warmers. I never wear a heavyweight glove, those hand warmers work wonders.

    Sad deal

Sounds like he was a very good swimmer. Possible though that the colder water caused a cramp. Sounds like this was an area he had been hunting his whole life and was very familiar with it. Don't know much else.

    Sad deal

Got a portion of the story from a co-worker of mine. It's his sisters nephew. Yes, he was with his girlfriend. He was going after a downed duck, but sounds like he took his waders off to retrieve it. Had stripped won to his underwear. The girlfriend saw the struggle and tried to go help...

    Remington 700 in .308

    308. I was also looking at 6.5 creedmore, but I don't see that caliber offered in this platform.

    Remington 700 in .308

So after doing some research, I am looking at the SPS tactical, 20" threaded barrel(For a suppressor to be added later). Trying to stay within budge, will probably put a Vortex Optic on top, thinking a 4-16x44. Should be a solid platform that I can upgrade over time.
