i just got home from picking up spiderwire for my 4 main trolling rods... it is 6 and 10# test that is 8 years old... started to lose some rigs at the end of last year so i figured it was time to change...
got a buddy that uses them exclusively at home in the columbia and everywhere else... he uses them with 3 way swivels and light line with river weights instead of bottom bouncers to save money on break off snags... works very well...
i fished with him for years on tobin, and he caught just as...
i use a retired oilfield anchor from the patch... weighs about 30# with a rod length of about 2'... it is really heavy which both sux, and is good... holds a 21' tourney boat in full current on the missouri in any wind...
