    Most of the leaders I use for musky are fluorocarbon. Granted, they're 80 to 150 pound test, but I've never lost a musky from a fluoro leader breaking. (knock on wood)

    For a lot of people that fish this tournament, it might be their only time ice fishing for the year, and I imagine many are unprepared to deal with water on the ice like that. For the amount of money they raise, they should do a little more to try minimize situations like this for the people...

    And you can buy a thermometer with a corded probe and external display for around $20 so you don't have to open the oven door to check temp.

    I've tried it with New York strip. Next time will have to be ribeye because the strip doesn't have near as much marbling as I like.
