He's VERY soft and I don't want to discourage anything to do with birds at this point. Chasing flying birds hasn't been a problem, and if it becomes a problem, I'll hook him up on a check cord. I'm not terribly worried about him chasing deer as again, we've flushed a few and come across lots...

Right now doggie 3 wears the E-collar when hunting. However, I haven't turned it on and don't carry the remote. I want him to associate the collar w/funtime, not a correction. I'll probably wait until next summer before I introduce tone, vibrate, or stimulation.

I try like heck not to use any voice commands afield. Birds don't seem to mind the whistle and IMO/IME the whistle cuts the wind better than a voice does, however, I don't whistle Beethoven's Fifth either. Doggie 3 is reasonably hip to the whistle, or at least he has been on ruffed and...

Just looked back @ pics. I believe the last time I shot a pheasant with a 12ga was 2013. Pass me the 20ga, 1oz of #5's and no more than an IC choke please.

    Things that annoy you?

Folks who don't use their cruise control on dry pavement when there's 0 chance of ice. I passed and was passed by the same car today 3x in under 5Mi. Then someone came by about 85MPH and Mr. no-cruise hopped on the faster car's bumper and left me behind. I watched him follow that faster car...

Are you pressing the release button on the frame and walking with a shell sitting on the elevator beneath a closed bolt? With the gun EMPTY, when you pull the trigger, does the elevator pop down and lock down until you pull the bolt back, which should lock the bolt back, and you have to release...

Is it kicking the shell out under the elevator when the elevator should be lifting it up in front of the bolt?

Buy a license in the dog's name. Once they're over 2 that's the equivalent of 14yrs old. Hunting cattails in the snow can net plenty of birds that the dog catches/retrieves with nary a shot fired, thus the license for doggie. Or the 2nd limit might be that of the photographer ya Dolt.

Things an adult should know how to do without Youtube

    1. Hook the hooks to whatever you're strapping down. 2. Ratchet arm facing you 3. Long strap comes in from the back. 4. Tag end goes out the top if you want the tag end above the strap, out the bottom if you want the tag end behind/below the strap 5. Pull the tag end tight by hand, then...

Things an adult should know how to do without Youtube

Completely agree, once you see it in the mirror, you're WAY too late. I'm not sure I could see a single-wide jet-ski trailer with my tarp rolled up and tailgate down, might have to take the tailgate off completely. You don't start off learning with the most difficult style of trailer to back...

Are you under the assumption that ratchet-straps are "single-use"? We're talking ratchet-straps, not zip-ties.

Go slower and use your mirrors more rather than turning to look. I'm not saying a person needs to be fast nor be able to parallel park the damned thing. But, one should be able to slowly back a trailer into a spot or down a ramp that 2x-3x wider than the trailer. I'm actually astonished...

Given that you found what you were looking for on YouTube, I'm going to go ahead and guess that you have significantly different filter settings than I do.......

    Steak Time!

Nearly the entire cut of meat will stay "pink" if you keep your heat source under 275 degrees and indirect. I sear steaks @ 600+ for 90-120sec depending on ambient outside temp and how much temp I lose due to opening the lid, and how much flare I expect from fat/olive oil/butter coating when I...
