    Help with plastics for walleyes....

I don't think I can be any help, for while I also like using plastics every now and then, live bait still puts more fish in my boat than plastics.

Steve Myers and his waterpowered car

The stories of 80-120 mpg carbs have been around forever. This may be one of the more realistic in expectations of a miracle that I've heard. Seems to kind of put it in the range of throttle body-based fuel injection seen in the early 80s. I had an 83 Cougar at one point that ran the throttle...

Steve Myers and his waterpowered car

LOL, I think this sums it up nicely: "The Judge then issued his verdict, in which he decreed that the funds received by Meyer had been stolen by deception (“gross and egregious fraud”), and he was sentenced to return it to investors. "

    Deer Ticks/ND?

I just read an article on Moose ticks and how they were responsible for around a 90% death rate in young moose out in Maine. I guess an adult moose can host upwards of 50,000 damn ticks at a time. Frigging yuck! - - - Updated - - - https://www.ndhealth.gov/Disease/Tickborne/ Has a map of...

Who's Ever Doing The Rain Dance.....

Huh, you're right....on both counts. It's finally been lifted here and my wood pile is too wet to burn. Tried to have a fire last night with the kids and it took quite a bit of effort to keep it burning.

Who's Ever Doing The Rain Dance.....

Right! I have a large pile of downed trees that need to be torched. There's now 6+ inches of green grass surrounding the piles and I'd still like to get it torched as I probably need to start adding to the piles. I dislike willows and poplars intensely at this point in life.

Who's Ever Doing The Rain Dance.....

To add some numbers, I received an email just a couple days ago outlining measured water content in the soils under differently managed soils and the average was 3.1 inches of water for each foot of soil going down to 48 inches. That's pretty a pretty impressive reservoir of moisture for the...

Yep, if'n I need to head into the deep brush this time of year, I use a permethrin based spray on my boots and pant legs. It really helps keep the little effers at bay. One thing though is that you aren't supposed to be wearing the jeans when you spray them, do it before you put them on so...

    F4 Super Phantom

While neither a friend or frenemy of the F-4, there were a lot better options starting in the 70s and certainly by the mid 80s.

    Steak Time!

Sis ended up yakking so much I missed the deadline for ordering dinner tonight. DAMNIT, and I was hungry. Ended up getting her leftover leftover egg rolls for a late night snack. Not bad, not bad at all. Every now and then we need to slip out of our regularity.

    Boat Trailer Wheels/Rims

I bought a 2004 Lund riding on a galvanized trailer back in 2006. I have absolutely zero issues with the corrosion protection provided by galvanized boat trailers. It's been awesome! I am still running on the same trailer and rims some 16 yrs later.

They are escapees from dog trainers. I think there are a couple of pockets of them in Bismarck.

Who's Ever Doing The Rain Dance.....

By and large, yes it is soaking into the ground. This time of year only the heaviest thunderstorms produce much runoff. While we've seen thunderstorms capable of producing good runoff, they have mostly hit the part of the state from roughly Emmons county and all points east. Once you get east...

Who's Ever Doing The Rain Dance.....

Hold on to your hats gents, there's a distinctly non-zero chance of severe thunderstorms today. And that chance increases as you go east across the state. And those severe thunderstorms may include a tornado or three. kdm is spot on with the planting prognosis. I've been saying it for a...
