    I would need to have had a few cocktails before I'd be able to e-dump above water. Alternately, sticking your legs through the arm holes of a PFD vest (backwards) allows the relaxation and "lifting and separating" needed to release a sinker. This obviously, is a summer-only solution.

    Ethnicity and skin color aside, I almost always fall in line with the cops. Wouldn't want their job. It's got to be incredibly tough, dangerous, stressful, the list goes on and on. 99% of the time, I think the cops are right, and doing a good job. Not this time.

    Yup. When a boat sinks slowly, you'll have time to get the lifejackets out, put 'em on, etc. When in a hurry, (or if you're ko'd), the lifejackets don't do any good in storage.
