Midlife crisis? Epiphany? Or am I insane?

Sounds like you're going into teaching English? No idea how they do it but most seem to be okay with it. I've taught science for ten years, as most have said there's pros and cons. No doubt a challenging job with many frustrations and things you can't control but plenty of rewarding things as...

    Lake Contour Maps

Seems as though most lakes that have a boat ramp have a contour map. Other than that I don't think so.

    neutering a dog

While I suppose it is easier for them to put on weight if they're neutered, it's not like it's automatic. Like people, generally the way they gain weight is if they're eating too much and/or exercising too little. I've seen plenty of fat dogs that are not neutered. Neutered my lab at about 14...

    Pickup Forum

Seems like it would be nice to have a vehicle/pickup forum on here as there are quite a few threads related to that. As a person like myself researches vehicles it makes it easier to find threads if they're all in the same forum. Just a suggestion

    neutering a dog

True, but it is nice to not have to worry about unwanted litters...

    neutering a dog

I wouldn't expect to see any or much change in behavior.

    NDFB Conference

Farm Bureau? They should arrange a debate between gst and plainsman on landowner issues, probably would sell the place out!!

    Trespass Bill

I was asking for clarification on why he's saying that we shouldn't paint this as negatively affecting sportsmen when the bill explicitly mentions hunting, etc. That's why I underlined and bolded that part of his post. Perhaps you're the inept one?

    Trespass Bill

I don't quite understand your statement here. This new law pretty clearly would negatively affect hunting. Could you clarify?

Kind of an interesting documentary on PBS right now about coyotes and wolves...carry on.

    Puppie preferences

I'm certainly no dog expert but I personally don't know of any hunting dogs with dew claws, but most of my experience is with labs. Friend of mine didn't do it on his wirehair pup and one got torn/infected on his first season and had to get operated on, cost him a couple months of hunting...

    Trespass Bill

I understand all of the pros and cons that have been mentioned throughout this thread. As a hunter with no family land or any land that is exclusively mine to hunt, it would hurt to unposted land be automatically posted. While it seems as though 80-90% of land in most (not all) areas I visit...

    Trespass Bill

http://www.grandforksherald.com/outdoors/4189679-north-dakota-likely-will-see-trespass-bill-when-legislative-session-begins Seems this comes up every couple of legislative sessions. Got to wonder why someone thinks this would have helped with the protest?

The Problem Facing ND Waterfowl Hunting

Without putting words in his mouth, I'll chime in here. I think what he's getting at are the high limits (certainly social media, etc has played a role as well) has led to a culture of needing to have the biggest bird pile at the end of the day. People see the big shoots on tv, online, etc and...

    Rebluing Shotgun

Have an older 870 20 gauge that I inherited and haven't used in a few years. Dumb on my part but it developed some rust on the barrel. Is there anyone in the Bisman area that does rebluing?

The Problem Facing ND Waterfowl Hunting

Similar experience as you. The PPR was quite a bit dryer than recent history. Had to scout quite a bit to find a couple decent spots for opener - got beat to the first one but the backup was a good transition slough and had one of our best opener hunts ever. Once NR opener passed I really...

    Christmas Blizzard

Ahhh the spring of '97 and the Red River flood, was only in junior high but definitely a time I will not forget. Was sandbagging for hours a day for many days leading up to it and was actually working on one of the sandbag dikes when it failed in EGF, luckily was only a few blocks from home...

Kvaloch Parents Suing Coach, School, Insurance

As a coach/teacher this story did hit a nerve when I saw it the other day. What's next, suing the school & coach when a kid dies on the way to a practice on an icy day? I certainly feel for these parents, not only the fact of losing their sons but that they haven't gotten many answers about it...
