Fargo Diversion and the ND Game and Fish

Agreed. Good luck finding any wildlife around here. There are a few deer around the Red and Sheyene rivers, but otherwise it's dirt and (maybe) 2-row shelter belts. You gotta drive 40 miles E,W, or S to even find a hill, and then you may also find some habitat and wildlife.

Ammonia-based. It also smells great, so try a little dab on your shirt to help with the ladies.

You can clean just about anything with Windex. I clean my hands with it all the time in my shop, and a few times I've cleaned my entire car with it. -- When it was just dusty, not thick dirt.

    Trees for wildlife

First off, thank you for doing this. It’s a huge investment, but every tree helps. I think you want to start with a bush of some sort on the north side to catch most of the snow. Then two rows of BHS offset will block the wind and hide your deer. A row of BHS on the inside will also help...

A multi-CD / DVD case -- one of those book-style ones with the plastic sleeves -- works great for storing spinners / worm harness rigs

Yep, "asshatery" is a very succinct description. While his vague description of the "science" around it holds some truths, it does not pan out. Please don't be wrapping your car / boat /etc batteries in aluminum foil...

    Gun Safes

I'm a fan of Liberty safes. I have the Fatboy Jr, and my brother has the Franklin. Very nice finish on both of them. I have mine in my basement. Other than the possible flood concern, that's probably the best place for it. It's 700-some pounds empty. It took like 6 guys to get it down there...

Bow Accuracy - When do you call it good?

I'm with Wags. I shoot 60-70 yards. There's a lot of focus and control required to shoot well at that range. When you get comfortable shooting at 70, it makes anything inside of 50 a gimme. I've been out a few times with a 50 yard limit in my head, but ended up taking shots (and making clean...

    Ruger Precision Rifle

Agreed it looks pretty sweet, but I'm sure I'll be 'left' out until / if they come out with a lefty model. Stupid left eyeball, why do you gotta be a jerk?

    Pesty Skeeters

I haven't seen any skeeters in a few weeks either (FM area). However with the recent rains I'm predicting a comeback.

    Name that bullet

I'm starting to think that either Federal makes these themselves, or they have a special run with one of the bullet companies to use gray tips instead of their normal color. I'm pretty sure it's not a v-max. While those are good bullets, I wasn't getting the dog explosions I was consistently...

American Eagle 50gr Varmint Tipped A few weeks back I was blasting prairie dogs with an assortment of factory 223 rounds out of my 16in AR. I was really impressed with these rounds. They seemed to create carnage similar to the 22-250 my brother was shooting -- at least inside of 200 yards...

    For once some good luck

I know a guy that has caught two rods off the bottom in his lifetime. One was a G Loomis. I've never caught one, but I haven't lost one either (yet). Once time was close. I dove in and grabbed it about 4 feet down.

    Long range shooting

At the range I use the Caldwell Tackdriver with my AR10. I like it quite a bit. I also use one of those wedge-type rear bags. I make sure to have covers on all my rails so that repeated recoils don't tear the bag up.

I feel you Mike. My hunting and fishing budget is being cut into by a $12,000 deck project this summer.

I caught you a delicious bass

Well played sir. Actually, now that I think about it, bass fishing is dumb. I don't think anyone should do it, especially not in northeast SD.

I caught you a delicious bass

I agree that walleye are superior table fare, but they're kinda boring to catch. I've had sticks give me a better fight. Now to drop a Texas rig right under a log, see the line start to move sideways, reel up and yank that rod like you got a pair -- that's what wet dreams are made of.
