What broadheads will you be using this season?

I like the plain old Magnus Stinger 2 blade for elk, and shooting through ground blind windows. This one clipped the front shoulder a bit, but still penetrated both lungs and out the other side. He went maybe 50 yards. For open range mule deer hunts where I've taken deer at 50-70...

    making spinners

I do the same. Usually that's 5 beads for the Colorado blades (I forget the size) that I use. If that's not "right", there's a whole lot of walleyes over the years that have been wrong. I have occasionally put just one bead before the blade.

Why do i need a cwp?

I would say it's mainly to make sure you know what you're doing. While the test (in ND anyway) is pretty easy, at least you have to read and think about the laws a little to pass it. There is no shortage of idiots out there, and I'd rather not have them carrying around a gun they may not know...

    Reloading for Browning A Bolt-30/06

I just got into it last fall, and the biggest surprise for me was the amount of work you can (should) put into the brass. Cleaning, sizing, trimming, de-bur flash holes, uniform primer pockets, etc. I agree that you should use your buddies stuff at first to make sure you want to commit...

    Your craziest fishing moment

MicLee, I feel some of your pain. I've also had to swim after a boat before. The water was about 55 degrees, so fairly unpleasant, but luckily the boat was only about 75 yards and I had towels and extra clothes in it. I also went swimming one time to get my rod back. I had put it down with...

    Alternative methods of taking game

Just be sure to get some quality soft points for that AK. In my younger years, I hunted deer with an SKS a few times. Not knowing any better, I was shooting cheap Wolf FMJs. I chased a wounded deer like half a mile before I was able to mow her down. Worst part was that when I first shot her...

    Alternative methods of taking game

I've been piling up deer and antelope for years with my AR10 in 243win. In another 20 years that will be considered a 'traditional' deer rifle. Also gunned down a doe with my 10mm Glock. I've always wanted to try shooting pheasants on the fly with a 22lr as I'm told my grandpa once did, but...

    Calling coyotes in the spring?

I dropped one with an arrow to the dome from a tree stand while deer hunting. But to call them in and do it would be really tough -- never tried. Randy Anderson can do it: http://callingcoyotes.com/product/randy-anderson-verminators-bowmania-dvd/ But then again Randy is a god among mere mortals.

    Your best fishing day ever..

Hammered like 40 largemouth bass (all were released) on a small lake in MN. Many in the 3#+ range. Nothing over 4#, but at the end of the day my thumb was ragged from lipping all those fish, and my wrist and ribs were sore from setting the hook. Sore ribs might need explanation: When I set the...

    Concern About Suppressor Legality

I hate to post a link to the "other site", but before I quit over there, I saw a thread that has your answer, and sometimes I can't help being helpful: http://www.fishingbuddy.com/sbr_s_now_legal_not_just_not_illegal - - - Updated - - - As a suppressed elitist, I tend to look down on the...

    Concern About Suppressor Legality

Is there any particular reason you have that concern? Due to misinformation / ignorance, there are many states that won't even allow you to possess one, like those commies over in MN.

    Praise the rain

Yep, we need it in the Fargo area as well. This is the driest spring I've seen since I've been here (about 10 years)

How did you get your handle/nickname?

I'm sort of in love with gun suppressors. I think everyone should have at least one, especially the guy sitting next to me at the range with his fricken muzzle break pointed at my ear.

    Prop Selection

It sounds like you're most disappointed in hole shot under load. You will probably want to try a 19p prop. That should give you better hole shot and since (I believe) you still have some RPM room at WOT, you may not lose any (or even gain some) top end. Another cheaper solution for getting on...

    Who Drinks Alcohol While Fishing?

If you don't toast each keeper walleye with at least 12oz (16 is recommended) of Miller Lite, the "fishing gods" will frown on you and the bite will end.

    I Need a DashCam !!

Camaro guy: impatient dick Pickup guy: passive-aggressive dick Dashcam guy: it's hard to say if he was "cruising" in the passing lane (which is kind of a dick move too), or just working at getting around the semis As much as Camaro guy looks like a total tool, I'm more irritated with pickup...

    Trolling motor mounting plate

The MinnKota ones have a padlock hole. I figure if someone is going to try to grab it, they probably don't want to spend time with a grinder or saw. I like to take mine off when I store it for the winter, or if I know I'm going to be driving a bunch of gravel I'll take it off and put it in the...

    Calling our Lost Members

I'm also done with FBO. I like how this site doesn't look and behave like it was designed in 1995. I forget who posted a link to this site on one of the FBO threads, but thanks!

    Transom Savers

Yeah, if you just had a thick chunk of rubber, you could use it like KDM uses a 2x10. My brother uses the m-y wedge on his Ranger, and it is pretty slick. If my aluminum transom saver ever breaks, I'll probably go that route.
