Do it yourself rubber net coating

I'd have to think it's worth a shot. What have you got to lose? At least the permatex and silicones won't get sticky to the boat once they are cured.

Do it yourself rubber net coating

Another thought, you could maybe take the webbing off the handle, put it in a plastic bag and squirt in a tube of silicone while massaging the bag/net. Then take the webbing out of the bag and gently wipe off the excess before hanging it out to cure.

    elk pack out

All I will say is GOOD LUCK! It sounds like quite the adventure and that's what it's all about when it comes right down to it. A person can always buy meat for way less in the store, and there are plenty of slightly used elk mounts as well. The one thing that you can't get anywhere else...

Do it yourself rubber net coating

Oh, and on to the original topic with a serious reply. If I were to try and re-coat a net, I might use a can of rubberized undercoating or truck bed coating. You can pick it up at your local Menards or autoparts store for about $5. That should dry out better than flex seal and still remain...

Do it yourself rubber net coating

I woulda thunk that miracle stuff would have turned your net into a soft bucket. Replacement webbings aren't that expensive. I've got a net that I've replaced twice now, but I've had that handle since 2002(?). I bought a new net for the Toon this year so I had at least one piece of gear...

    Toyota Tacomas

A buddy has a Tacoma. Seems to do everything he wants, it pulls an identical boat to mine, gets him where he wants to go for hunting, etc. Me, being a little larger of a guy, don't really like riding with him in the winter. That front seat seems a little small when I'm dressed for -40 temps...

    7th fleet crashes another one

This is frigging stupid. I am going to go out on a limb and say that this too was probably the Navy's fault. Smaller and more nimble ships are supposed to yield to the big slow bumbling things called tankers. Yeah, that's a completely theoretical thing where I'm not aware of the details of...

    Outboard Motor Parts

If you are buying a boat motor part and it only costs $8, quit yer bitching about shipping. Can't remember the last time I bought something for a boat that only cost $8. And it's not like you are money ahead driving very far, I live near Lincoln and I'd spend $8 in fuel (almost) getting to Moritz.

Total Eclipse: Fun Fact, Aug 21

Because you can't really look directly at the sun on most days. Natural instincts to look away. On solar eclipses though, the majority of the sun is blocked and your eyes may tolerate looking at it for enough time to allow the UV rays to cause damage. Kind of like a sunburn if something I...

    Boat stereos

I have a good radio/stereo in both the Toon and fishing boat. Both will eventually be sold with the boat and may be the only part left that is truly "good as new". They get used, but not very often.

    Shorelander wires

Last night I used my favorite trick in working on electrical shit. I looked at it in the dark and started wiggling wires. It didn't take but 30 seconds to see the sparks where Shoreland'r pinched the running light wire in the frame to suspension area. dipshits

    Shorelander wires

I have a brand new Shoreland'r trailer that has issues. It blinks constantly on the running lights. I figure it will be at least as easy to figure out as a post from you. Amongst other things, cyclops?

    Blue Gills

Yeah, I see them on lots of walleyes from Sakakawea, DL, and every other small lake in the prairie pothole region. You just gotta look and you will eventually find them. They don't bother me tho, at least not as much as the tapeworm looking things in the walleyes at DL, or the little black...

    Ulterra Owners???

That is correct. I have not run into that problem yet, but I have a quick release on mine where I can pretty easily lift the whole unit off the bow if needed. The older slide-in style bracket would be impossible to remove with the motor deployed. Truth is I didn't even think of this until you...

Wildlife vs. The Drought of '17

I think there's also something about the midge's life cycle that puts it into full on infectious stage in late August through Sept. So early frosts help a bunch by knocking some of the midge's out of the gene pool.
