    Question on jigs

    I don't bake my jigs after I paint them. I seem to lose the jig before the unbaked paint comes off and baking makes getting the eye cleaned up a real PAIN as compared to the unbaked paint which chips out of the eye quite easily with an eye buster.

    The eye buster is the way to go. If you use other metal objects, you run the risk of creating a sharp edge on the wire of the hook eye which can chaff the line and weaken it significantly.

    Whats your max wind speed?

    For me, wind doesn't matter. It's the waves. DL can have 4 footers with a 15 mph wind or a 40 mph wind with 6 inch waves depending on location. I take a look at the lake when I get there and make the call. Getting pounded by waves really reduces my fun level and I can always go muddin'.
