    New Boat!

I tend to fish in multiple states and Canada every year and Garmin maps seem to be good. I have never had a head unit paired with a trolling motor, so I don't know what I am missing. - - - Updated - - - I am not sure on a bow mount trolling motor as of yet, so it may sway my decision. I run a...

    New Boat!

So I finally decided to purchase a new boat. I ended up ordering a 2017 Alumacraft Edge 185. I ordered it with a 150 Suzuki. My question comes down to electronics. I will be upgrading from older Humminbird units to some thing new. Does anyone run Garmin? I would like some first hand experience...

Red River- Ice Fishing Fargo area

I usually stop ice fishing the red by the end of January. The ice conditions change rapidly in February that I don't trust it. Especially this year with rain and warm temps in January. I have not been on the red in over 3 weeks and don't foresee anymore this year.

    Lake Winnipeg Gear

It is normally just myself on the sled. I do have the springs set tight on the rear suspension for the added weight. I stood on it last night after I made it and it did not flex at all (210 lbs). I sent the sled and trailer with a buddy today to Upper Red Lake for the weekend. I will see if it...

    Pop-up on Winnipeg?

I have made 5 trips to Big Windy over the years and every year I have a better way of doing things. A lot of broken items came back with me. Rods are always in a hard side case (Frabill) because of broken rods in a soft case. Destroyed a vex gens box that exploded in my otter sled, A couple of...

    Clam Outdoors Customer Service

The ice armor Extreme gloves lasted a week on Winnipeg, then threw them in the garbage. I should have kept them to warranty. I Bought a pair of the extreme mitts this year and have yet to use them. Is there a better option that hold up?

    Ice auger help

I have seen propane augers left outside the fish house in -5 degrees and not start. My 2 stroke Eskimo was the only auger to start in -25 degree weather on Winnipeg a few years back.

    Ice Auger Poll

I would look at an ion. I run an Eskimo now and have had no problems. Starts every time. Propane would be my last choice. I have fished with too many people that their propane augers wont start.

    Lake Winnipeg Gear

I second the Johnson cargo rack. The design is nice and well made. I saw one on Winnipeg in March. I can not justify $299.00 for this set up. So to the welder I go.....

Good winter tire for 2500 Duramax

Yes, it is biased. Nokian makes the blizzaks in their manufacturing plant and has the contract for 8 years. They are also tested at Nokians testing site. The design and compound of the rubber used in the blizzaks is Bridgestones. They are still a good tire for the first 1/3 of the tread.

Good winter tire for 2500 Duramax

Good call on the Hakka's. I love mine. Ahab - the Blizzaks are a great tire, but are made of 2 rubber compounds. The first 1/3 of the tire is great, then they get hard and do not perform as intended.
