One of the beautiful silvers we caught up in the great State of Alaska, fished out of Valdez and had one great time. Will be going back next spring to do some king fishing can't wait.

I was also in Sitka this summer. We couldn't get this one to bite. Maybe should have tried a topwater lure?

Salmon spawns on Obama in Alaska

Washington (CNN)During his historic trip to Alaska, President Barack Obama spent some time fishing at Kanakanak Beach in Dillingham and in a comical moment, a salmon spawned on his shoes.

Wearing a pair of orange gloves, Obama examined some of the fish that he caught. The second one he picked up began squirting at his shoes.
"Uh-oh, what's happening there?" he asked.

The woman standing by him explained that the salmon was spawning.
"Did you see that? Something got on my shoes," Obama called to the press. "He was spawning a little bit, which, generally you don't want fish spawning on your feet."
"He was happy to see me," Obama added

Well done salmon. Well done.

I'm almost positive that is the same boat I fished out of a couple of years ago. I need to go back up there and fish with him.

ETA - Yep, same boat. Unless someone had some guys fishing with him that wore the same clothes as you did.
