Dropping f bombs left/right shows class, shows you care more than the average guy, and is a tribute to the little girl. Kudos to the classy f-bombers.

Whatever - I never complained and I didn't disable my alerts. Just trying to argue that we can have our cake and eat it too.

Amber Alerts are for serious abducted children cases where they believe the child is in immediate danger. It sounds to me like nobody has clue what is going on in this instance. How can it take 15 hours in the first place to figure out a 1 year old is missing and then issue an alert with erroneous suspects.

I had no idea what an amber alert was for or why I was summoned to help somebody in Montana when I was 500+ miles away.

That's the thing unless I missed part of it nd wasn't under an amber alert the map had it confined to MT. I find it interesting that some of you act as if the people who were turning it off are bad people with no comparison for those in trouble completely ignoring the fact that it's hard to catch a abductor from ones bed. With mine the alert comes in silent but the text version still comes in. So if I'm sleeping i notice nothing but if awake I'm alerted immediately. A couple of you guys need to get down off your high horse and stop berating people who were having a civil conversation up till the Fbomb crew started inferring about people who they have never met integrity.

The actual ability to essentially ping everyone's phone in a chosen area is actually pretty impressive. Or maybe I'm just getting old. I've said before the ability to track movements and interests for each individual like companies and governments do is pretty creepy, this is definitely not one of those cases. There's certainly instances when even the tiny chances are worth taking to solve a problem, amber alert is certainly one of those instances. Planted the garden in tonight and I caught myself taking extra long looks at my 2 and 6 year old playing football in the yard. I can't imagine going through something like that. Horrible.

You tell me what the hell the majority of the population was gonna do to resolve this matter receiving a text message in the middle of the night while they were sound asleep. I just see absolutely no sense in this!![/QUOTE

Yeah the system should Def try to figure out who is up and who is sleeping. It's the rare chance that at 4am someone is sitting at a gas station filling up heading out hunting and a car with that kid pulls up and that person is aware and able to do something about it vs seeing it on the 6 o'clock news and looking back not being able to do something now. As a parent I'll take any slimmer of hope that someone sees it even If that chance was 1 in a billion. I am not the type to call out someone, make a big deal about stuff or even post something 99.9% of the time but when I see something so fucking dumb like your comment I feel obligated. AGAIN, a 1 year old little innocent angel is dead and people have the nerve to keep defending themselves. Open your fucking eyes and think of someone besides yourself.

So what happens when a one year old is killed by a truck driver because he didn't get enough sleep and nods off stump the wheel.

my 10 month old woke up periodically last night and I was finally able to get to sleep around 2:30. This alarm went off at 4-430 and I had to be up for work at 5. I had an hour and a half drive to the jobsite. I was quite tired on my drive this morning. I fully understand and appreciate that we have the technology to help save our kids but since I've had an I-phone I have had 4 amber alerts. 1 was from parshall, 1 poplar, 1 fort yates and 1 fargo. There is nothing anyone here could have done to save this poor little girl from the circumstances she faced. there is a good chance she was demised before the alert went out. how much money do we need to throw at the tribes before things change? you cant help people who wont help themselves. I don't mean this to come off as heartless but the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw poplar as the locale was " another indian kid abducted by the father" so I for one am already getting numb to these alerts. i'm sorry if this offended any of you but its true.

I am working nights, so when both my phones started blasting at 4:30 I did laugh a little thinking about everyone at home in bed. But I had no idea it was such a big deal to lose 15 minutes of sleep. If you are cutting it that short then you probably should go to bed a little sooner. Good night everyone hope you sleep well.

nd needs to put a law in that states if you intentionally harm a child in which that harm leads to the childs death than you recieve the death penalty. disgusting when a baby is taken before they even have a chance in this world.

This may have been said but if a person mutes notifications on your phone he wouldn't hear it but would see it upon waking.

man what a sad story to wake up to, didnt catch the update last night, i hope they string up whoever did this. And what a shocker the people that were first thought to have abducted the girl, at least the gal and her son are locked up for having meth and guns, and these are acquaintances of the mother of this little girl? sounds like this poor little girl never had a very good go at life, very sad sad story all the amber alerts aside, something really needs to be done about these reservations and the drugs and violence that is going on out there, i think that starts with an actual police force because i dont think the police forces that are out there can handle it all, let all officers in there and not just federal agents and start cleaning this place out, people will start thinkin twice about doing this stuff if there is a good chance they are going to get locked up for it. i remember when the 3 kids were killed out by new town and those little kids had just moved away from my town and one of the little girls was my 10 year old sisters friend, she had actually gotten a letter from her friend julia in the mail a couple days after she was murdered, which brought my to tears instantly, and this was all because some drugged out native went knocking on the wrong door and instead of turning and running he kills 3 children, its sickening and nothing is being done to keep this from happening over and over again....

ND Division of Emergency Services sent out a 'clarification' message yesterday afternoon. The Amber Alert for NORTH DAKOTA was cancelled, but it remained active in MONTANA. Oh, well, why didn't the message state that?????

Instead of saying the Amber Alert is cancelled, child is still missing.... That's a pretty ambiguous statement, isn't it?

Yes, sad to know that the child was already killed in Montana and they've apprehended the suspect. Hopefully a federal case and put the adult that did this in a comfortable segregation cell on Rikers Island, NY.... let them see their own poo throughout the day inside the Ter'let 20" away!

So mom beats her kid to death and tosses her in dumpster and guys turning off a setting on their phones are bad people! Yep seems logical.

Yeah the story I saw has been modified now and lists her as unknown relationship with girl. Either way the person doing the 911 call turns out to be the psycho who did it in the first place.
