Wild turkeys knock the snot out of ruffed grouse. They prey on the nests and young chicks of every ground nesting bird and some tree nesting birds as well. Usually when the turkeys roll in the pheasants, grouse, partridge, and quail decline significantly. The wild turkey guys and the quail guys have been at odds for some time now because of it.
