Yes piping, no not a bit actually just stating the facts . Wager that SU goes farther than both und and sdsu ?

I would not bet against NDSU. They remain the class act. I like them and UND. my kid is on the UND team and several other North Dakota kids. Would like to see both teams successful. Been a NDSU fan for years so that will not change much
But if they end up playing each other then I have to go where family is of course. Check out the Jamestown kid. True freshman playing wide receiver and doing very well this year. Great hands.

I'm guessing that's a picture of Bruce Anderson when he injured his ankle and missed several games after that. Get even today, even though things like that happen all the time in FB games. Played a lot of FB and I can honestly say that "getting even" was hard to do in the heat of the moment during a game. You might think you want to but your training and reaction often tell you differently.

Dominant game by the Bison today against a very potentially dangerous offense. 30 yards in the last 3 quarters is a great defensive effort matched by a time-consuming offense. I for one thought the Bison could win but SDSU always scares me. They are not an easy team to beat.

This was the last time NDSU and SDSU played several weeks ago. Take a look at the runner's right foot. It's backwards. It was known that Bruce Anderson was recovering from a high ankle sprain. This SDSU douche held onto his foot and did an alligator roll trying to take him out for the season. The slow-mo replay will make you gag a little.

So it was an illegal tackle? It is illegal to hit high now it is wrong to tackle low? When do they hand the flags out. And I like Alabama so I guess either way I don't care. Sdsu guy is a douchebag

NDSU playing Alabama wouldn't that be interesting? I mean a David Vs Goliath! Might not ever happen but would be very very interesting. There has been talk and of course a lot of teams have stated that NDSU should step up to FBS. I think that they would be fine but the stadium is a little small to host large events. I know I'm dreaming but just thought that I'd spur some interest in Alabama vs NDSU. Any other thoughts:;:huh

Not really a Bison "fan" per se, but for a team to keep dominating the league they are in and kicking the snot of of everybody, doesn't improve the program IMO. I know almost nothing about college football and how they do this voodoo magic polling thing, but I'd like to see NDSU have some more equally matched competition and lose a few games. It makes watching them more exciting and gives the players and coaches more incentive to be at the top of their game. Right now it's almost "blase" when I hear "NDSU won again today beating so and so by 17 points". Probably going to get crucified for saying that, but I think NDSU isn't far off of playing the "Big" schools competitively on a regular basis instead of once a year. I feel there could be a few more NFL players coming from NDSU with the right competition. I just think the program just needs a good kick in the pants every so often to push those players and coaches to get to that next level.

I have no desire to see them go FBS but I do enjoy when they play FBS teams. We would need at least double the seating that the Fargodome currently provides and a whole lot more money in the program. Then fire most of the coaching staff so we can bring in some big name coaches at 10x the price of the current staff. Then we can be a 3 to 5 win team every year for about a decade and become just another FBS school in the ocean of FBS programs.

It is also easy to forget, if you factor in that silly probation period that they got rid of after the fact, NDSU really just got to FCS.

Did you watch them this year? They didn't exactly steamroll the competition by any means with most games coming down the the final drive and some into overtime! Fact is they are in a catch 22 right now, if they were to switch they would have a huge disadvantage when it comes to recruiting compared to just about every other team in the country leading them to be middle of the pack if they were lucky. Now the reverse side is if they stay the have a huge recruiting advantage over all the rest of the FCS because they are able to attract guys who would normally play for an FBS school but choose the bison because they know they will get far more playing time vs the bigger program giving them a better shot at making it to the NFL. The more they win the better they are at recruiting the better they are at recruiting the more they win. Then add in ESPN's love affair with them with college game day and more games on the mother ship and you have yourself a recruiting juggernaut that is pretty much impossible for any other team in the FCS to compete against. Now at some point perhaps this year or next or when ever they will stumble and their advantage will decrease and perhaps eventually disappear but till then I say ride this wave and bring on more 40 point margins of victory because they make the drinks that much better during the 4th!

Yep!! Sure did watch'em. Close games and losses appeared to me to be due to shooting themselves in the foot and not due to a better or even equally matched team. However, like I said, not a Bison "Fan" per se, but I do enjoy watching real Bison fans get their panties in a wad.

Should NDSU go FBS, no in my mind. There is more than just the FB coaches salaries going up. Correct that more seating would be required. If NDSU becomes FBS then all salaries go up from the President on down to every instructor. Don't believe that, check what happened when they went from Division 2 to ! and the FCS.

Recruiting becomes more difficult for reasons stated above. Raising more money has it's limits. Currently raising money in a city of 100,000 and a state of 6-700,000. A lot of FBS schools have our state population in the city they are located or at least very close to a major population. Would the support be there with a continuous 6-4 record or even a 9-2 record and qualifying for a no-name bowl game sometime between Christmas New Years? Most big name bowl games come from major conferences, not they smaller conferences. Remember a few years ago when Boise State was undefeated most years for much of the season and rarely broke into the top 10 unless they were the only undefeated team left in the country.

Perhaps the best is now. There is no shame in making the rest of the country chase you instead of always chasing them. What's the old saying "unless you're the lead dog in the pack, the view is all the same."? Don't think for a minute that staying on top is easy, might be more difficult than getting there. NDSU never plays a game without a target on it's back.

Go Bison

I think that by NDSU staying FCS is actually a bit advantage to all the FCS and the Missouri Valley specifically. NDSU has brought a lot of attention to FCS level and we will be seeing better and better players coming to FCS as well as more getting to the NFL from FCS. Heck look at what most division teams have been doing the last few years, building their teams to specificly defeat NDSU as well as small or struggling teams really looking up to the program. I think the FCS as a whole is just going to be getting better and better in the years to come and will make for plenty of good football to be watched
