The old yellow forms went into boxes to be kept for 7 years. You’ve got to be an idiot to think that a registry wouldn’t be created once they switched it to online. I too couldn’t care less if they know what I have. The fact is 99.999% of gun owners operate legally and responsibly and have little to fear. Firearms are founded on solid ground in our constitution. Making them illegal is unlikely. Confiscation even more unlikely and logistically difficult.

Don’t do dumb shit and you’ll be OK. Prevent others from doing dumb shit too. If that means a red flag law we may have to live with that compromise. While we can’t eliminate some potential people from doing dumb shit, our solid grounds will eventually be eroded. There’s a pile of people out there who have no use for firearms. They could rule if we keep thinking firearms are a free for all and try to prevent any small safeguard from going into place. Including a registry.
This is one place I won’t compromise. Red flag laws don’t work we have enough laws as it is and for some reason criminals don’t follow them. Enforce the laws on the book to the fullest extent of the law. The 2nd amendment is clear what its intent is.

Everyone is so scared of red flag laws being turned on them. I get the fear but all it is going to take is a few success stories of them and we’re screwed. We can either craft them ourselves or worse yet let the antis craft them for us with a couple happy stories. As much as I hate it I think we have a choice to make.

Ok I will concede one red flag law. If your a tranny you can’t have guns. They will have to ratify the constitution in don’t see that happening

I am far from a conspiratorial kind of person, but I wonder if Aussies and our neighbors to the north might have thought similarly just 20 years ago?
