True fact. This was the only reason for the age of the buffalo hunter
meat for me, glue for youItems labeled "Ground beef product" or "beef patties" can have up to 12% water and fillers added. Most contain between 8 and 12 percent. Single ingredient ground beef doesn't have any added water or fillers. Make sure you read the labels fellas. That lb of "beef" might actually be 14oz of beef and 2oz of added water and glue.
Great motto for the human condition of perpetual, unrelenting, and unending selfishness. Couple that with "At least I got Mine." and I think you have the complete package.meat for me, glue for you
i buy my beef mostly from ranchers, recently on a trip i had to buy burger in a store it was so bad ran right through me.
Just found a guy who is selling 2yr corn fed for less then 5 bucks a pound that includes processing. This will be my second time buying 1/2 a beef.
Are you talking grass finished or steers that just eat grass most of their life till they get finished on corn or grains?Did some diving this morning into the current status of US beef production and came across a fairly concerning little stat on grass fed beef. 85-99% (Depending on which data you want to use) of the grass fed beef sold in the US is imported. That doesn't leave a lot of support for domestic production. No wonder that product costs so much. A good part of the imports come from Australia. Now that's a long supply chain if you ask me.
8’ fences are expensive. Bison are exponentially dumber than cows when you’re trying to move and work them. ~50% weight-to-meat ration vs. beef. No infrastructure is set up to deal with Bison. Stock trailers, gate panels, squeeze chutes, etc etc etc.Food for thought: with meat prices so flippin' high, why hasn't the bison market taken off again with reasonable prices? There's a fair amount of bison on the landscape, & they are fairly easy to raise/keep,
My folks both grew up in Edgetown. I get through there for work 1-2x/Mo and when I think ahead AND actually remember to pack. Cooler I try to nab a few things from them. We like their bacon as well as ground beef and steaks. We get our beef and pork processed at Butchers Edge. They are the best butcher I've ever dealt with. I can't recommend them enough.
Their tiger meat is the best I've ever had, it's so good!My folks both grew up in Edgetown. I get through there for work 1-2x/Mo and when I think ahead AND actually remember to pack. Cooler I try to nab a few things from them. We like their bacon as well as ground beef and steaks.
