That you've either caught or seen in the flesh?

I once saw a guy on South Buffalo lake in SD catch a bluegill I estimate was 13-13.5" and 2-2.5lb.

This weekend a young man in my boat caught a slab - ~11.5" and 1.44 lb. The 13 yr old didn't want it and the group I was with would have gone at it with a filet knife - so I kept it and will likely get it mounted.

My personal best is maybe 11" - again at South Buffalo. It's been ~10 yrs so I can't recall for sure.

Anybody got pics to share?

10.5". No weight. Just a few quick pics for replica reference and back in the drink.

Dammit Vollmer! Why can't I shamelessly upvote my own posts? You make it impossible to feed my narcissism.

13.5 for me, and it is swimming in the same body of water I caught it in. Was caught 12 years ago. Wish I had a pic of it yet. Pre cell phone cameras.

It definitely isn't still swimming. Average lifespan for bluegills is 5-6 years and the maximum lifespan is 8-10 years. Should have kept the fish it probably didn't live much longer but to each their own.

Kid had a gold fish that lived 6 years, unbelievable. I was happy to flush that nonsense down the toilet.

All gills were released back so that they could get back to baby sitting the nesting grounds.
