I'm wondering how many of you have a nice stereo in your boat or what your thoughts are of a guy who does? I have a f/s boat and enjoy using it for both purposes. I did not skimp on electronics, trolling motor or gear so it is a nice fishing boat but the kids talked me into adding a waketower with a bunch of attachments. Now he wants to add a set of tower speakers for when he is behind the boat. I'm wondering about the looks I'm gonna get when I'm unloading to go fishing and no I'm not going to disconnect everything when I want to go. It doesn't really matter to me because it's a family boat but just curious about thoughts

The ProV came with a nice stereo that has a couple speakers in the front, and a couple in the back. I have music going 100% of the time, at just enough volume to hear it personally. I do crank it sometimes when zipping across the lake, because I am an eighty's kid, and rock music is part of that.

Mrs johnr would rather have silence, but she is a woman, so we listen to the stereo.

No where in the post did I mention about playing music loud. The only time it would be above personal levels would be when the kids are behind the boat and having fun and that would be in the same company of people.

Ha ha ha. Your second sentence actually defines loud. You are contradicting yourself.

It's a free country - play it loud and proud. I'll just try to leave the area (unless it's a small MN lake - then I'll just leave the lake or try to stomach it if the fishing is worth the anguish).

If your kid wants the damn speakers, make HIM figure out how to buy them, how to temporarily mount them when he wants to use them, how to take them back out when he's done with them, where to store them, and everything else having to do with these speakers. Then IF, and I do meant IF, you get these, you won't be inconvenienced by them when YOU want to fish in YOUR BOAT. I suspect that if you require these things of your kid, you won't have any speakers as getting them will require grown up thought and actions and it is much easier to be a kid and have DAD do everything. Good Luck!!!

In 2007 I ended up ordering a boat. The sales person tried very hard to ge me to order a radio/stereo. I said no flippn way.
When it was all said and done he said that was the first boat they ever ordered without a radio.

I am hoping you do this, and fish the same lakes #guywhoskatessmokesweedandhatesmusic... haha

We camped at the Pick City state park about 3 weeks ago, several of the cabin owners are from the Dickinson area, and they seemed to all have these wake boats, and a bunch of young kids wake boarding, as luck would have it my children were invited to join them. They had an absolute blast, we are looking forward to the labor day weekend and being invited to do it again.

Sakakawea is huge, so this fun can be had away from where anyone would be fishing. What we did was fished in the mornings, and then hung out on the pontoons and wake boats in the afternoon. Turns out even us old fisherman can be swayed into having fun that doesn't involve a Gloomis.

Just because you guys, my self included, prefer to fish, doesn't mean others are not entitled to have fun in other ways.

Bunch of grumps thinking they own the lakes I tell ya.

so I take it no one listens to the radio in the pickup or watches tv at home

I should make it clear... when we're fishing that's all we are doing, I dont even take the damn cell with to interrupt it. If we are hanging out or pulling someone I avoid anyone fishing since I don't like being tossed around by an a**hole flying by anymore than the next guy.

We are just bustin you chops a bit. I have a pretty kick ass Kicker sound system in my boat. It cranks loud enough to drown out everything.

Even the sound of you bragging about your 350? I have it on good authority that gets mighty loud
