Yeah I saw the garter and the Japanese grass snake just now as well so figured they were getting used interchangeably. The garter snake and the whole newt thing was interesting as was the dumb ass guy in Oregon that ate a newt on a bet and died with in hours. It was bitch getting any real info with all the dumb asses arguing that there was no such thing as a poisonous snake when people posted questions about it.

Which is why I recommended using google, knowing it would just cause confusion.

Once I saw you were going for the semantics of venomous vs. Poisonous it didn't take long but what did was trying to figure out exactly how many poisonous snakes there are and if there was some sort of hierarchy between them like there is with venomous. Which that info is a lost cause on Google and you just end up chasing your own tail on.

You know what just occurred to me... if we were this bored during the weekend storm we shoulda spent a little time clicking the shit out of the ads on Nodak to make it a merry Christmas for Volmer. I feel kind of stupid for thinking of it now.

Its kind of a gray area as to the most poisonous because some localities of garters arent at all, and some are deadly, just depends on the strength of the toxins in the newts in a particular area.

Good idea, ill click some ads

I think it's fair to say MSA is the resident reptile guy. In another life, I was into aquarium fish. The whole "multi-species angler" thing makes a lot of sense. Funny how there are a million species of fish in the world and we obsess over catching like 12 of them because they're local. Considering the variety of migratory birds we have buzzing around, it's amazing we don't get more into birding. I mean, holy crap, this place is to migrating birds what Scotland is to Scotch.

My point? NDA needs more pics of a certain giant lizard doing giant lizard things... like eating a live chicken. Ball is in your court MSA and KDM. Let's make this shit happen.

Sorry Bed Wetter, but as of last month Bob now resides in Florida on my buddies reptile farm. I'll still get to see him every summer, but i had to choose between a fun hobby and a money making hobby, I didnt have room for both.

so, if the SHTF in north dakota, we could probably get away with eating a stinky garter snake as we don't exactly have an over abundance of newts in this state? any specific states to stay away from?
