Camping on Jamestown Reservoir

Looking for a place to camp with my family (parents, siblings) and thought about camping at the Jamestown Reservoir because it has cabins and other facilities that we would like. We've never been there. How are the campground facilities and how is the fishing? I haven't seen any fishing reports this year on this site. I saw there was some winterkill this year but I haven't heard if people are catching anything. Thanks for your help.

Stay at the marina, it’s better than pelican point in regards to family friendly. The little cabins are
actually nice. Only downside is it’s not on the water. The reservoir is good for one thing, recreation. If you wanna catch walleye there’s probably 15 lakes within 25 minutes of Jamestown that would be better than the reservoir. If you just want some action for the kids fish around the big island and you should be fine or the little pond across the road they stock fish on for kids. Message me if you’re any more serious than this about catching fish

Marina is a pretty good / tame campground. Crappie action just about anywhere on the lake, just need to do it before the afternoon tubers and skiiers get out. Some walleye activity.

Thanks you guys for your help. We got a couple of cabins at Lakeside Marina. I think we would like to catch just about any kind of fish but I really would like to get into some crappie. Any suggestions of where to start? My experience with crappie is in Minnesota lakes where you drive around to find the schools of crappie around 5 oclock p.m. and you will find active feeding crappie. Not sure if they follow the same patterns on the reservoir.
